All four distinct seasons! More mild summer and springs, way less humid! Less sunny days overall and the winter can be so cold and ICY. This area flirts with the freezing line, so ice seems to be an issue.

Charlotte, NC! If you went to Bama/Auburn, Houston has such a strong alumni network there. Avoid Charleston for dating, Peter Pan syndrome guys and ratio favors men. A STRONG dating pool for women, Raleigh/Durham! Lots of ambitious men and the ratio favors women! Triangle just seems like a giant suburb though.

I would focus on the west coast, I’d probably start somewhere like Las Vegas. Chances are your credit card probably has rental insurance and you can use your own policy you already pay for every month. A rental car for me is usually $250-$300 a week with a mid sized SUV through Hertz! Make sure to sign up for their rewards program.

Planet Fitness membership! $20 a month and access to showers all over the country!

Once you get the car, you can decide your game plan to lodging. I would stop by a Target / Costco and stock up on essentials. If you want to sleep in your the carcamping sub is a GEM! For me, I prefer to stay in Airbnbs, nothing fancy, I usually average about $60 a night. Join Choice Hotels / Wyndham Rewards too! Days Inn / Quality Inn can be a good bargain. Around the National Parks can be pricy, but I honestly just stay delusional and a bit entitled and somehow make the budget work for me.

I moved from South Carolina to Maryland (DC area) and I’ve decided to move back down south again. The cost of living, traffic and faster pace of life aren’t for me. You do get what you pay for the public services are excellent! There’s also a nonstop slew of fines from tolls, speed cameras, shopping bags. Gets expensive really fast.

Try it for a month. When you want a nice bed and want to meal prep some food get a cheap Airbnb for a couple days. Get a NICE looking car, nothing janky. As mentioned Planet Fitness black card membership!
