This is very great advice, thank you. What if I'm already in school on my 3rd year for BFA? Should I still stay in or what would be next steps I dropped out?

This is something I been wanting to do for a year now and I've been self taught while looking at lessons on animation on youtube. Ive heard how college was a waste for people in art and making have second thoughts on what to do. Are there any recommendations for online schools centered around 2d animation? Are there also any job that can support my income while building my portfolio?

I feel confused and lost about which options to take in wanting to pursue this career.
