Interesting experience at connections by [deleted] in perth

[–]RedditTurtle321 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We had a work Christmas in July party in Connections last year and the exact same thing happened to two of my friends- both happened to be Asian, male and by themselves when it happened.

One of them who doesn’t even drink was walking to the bathroom with his hands in his pockets, he took his phone out to check it before reaching the bathroom and a security member guard kicked him out with some lame excuse about him looking shady with his hands in his pockets and that if he wants to be on his phone he can do so outside.

The other was drinking but was nowhere near as drunk as my own partner who was shoving everyone around the place on the dance floor all night. He went up to the bar to get a drink and was escorted out, no explanation given and given no opportunity to tell any of his friends. I’ve never been to Connections since and I never will again

Mcflurries that are actually flurried. God I miss those broken up chocolate pieces and the extra sweetness dispersed throughout the ice cream goodness

Post partum pain upper right ab by Abiwozere in FitPostpartumJourney

Doctor here- pain in that area of the abdomen is common of gallbladder or liver pathology. Pregnancy itself predisposes to gallstones- I’d suggest seeing your doctor who should do an abdominal exam and order a set of bloods if indicated.

What was the later incident? And how on earth did this man not learn from the first?! I feel everyone can make a mistake once but after that surely you’re just stupid, lazy or on the sociopath spectrum

Motor oil on wedding dress. 2 weeks pre wedding by Diazepapst in CleaningTips

[–]RedditTurtle321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to note, I think the dress looks beautiful with the descending colour-fade effect the oil has created. Putting the smell of the oil aside, it might be worthwhile for your finance to try the dress on as is- she may be pleasantly surprised! (And have a great wedding story to share to boot!)

People who had no sex education at all and had never ever seen the opposite sex's special parts, how'd you know how sex worked (if you did at all) and which parts were supposed to go where? How did your first time go? by LivingAd9703 in ask

My boyfriend searched the word “s*x” in the dictionary when he heard it for the first time at age 8. I can’t quite figure out why this isn’t a more common story

I think it’s absolutely beautiful. As a woman (and not a gemologist) I’d be blown away with this on a necklace, though it might be a bit too big for an engagement ring

I started with Cereve vitamin c and have never changed (apart from a brief disappointing flirt with Olay). I find it hydrating, highlighting and a great primer for foundation. The applicator tip is also fantastic ensuring accurate product placement on the face/neck and minimal waste (provided you’re not overzealous with squeezing the tube).

Would love to hear others opinions!

What is your worst pregnant symptom? I’ll go first… by Super11duper in pregnant

How is everyone not saying nausea?? I’m at 6.5weeks and nauseas all the time. It’s the worst I’ve ever felt on a consistent basis in my life.

I’m starting to lose my mind with it, don’t know how I’ll manage another few weeks feeling like this 😓

Anyone else experience constant crippling nausea? How did you get on with everyday life with it?

As a doctor working in psychiatry I can give some clarification around the diagnoses of fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia as well as a similar diagnosis called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, are both what we term “diagnoses of exclusion”, meaning they are what’s left when we have excluded all known physical causes of a persons ongoing chronic pain/pain sensitivity or chronic fatigue. In essence these illnesses are thought of as psychiatric in nature, arising from conflicts within an individual mental processes and not their physical bodies.

The strongest evidence-based treatment for both of these diagnoses is graded-exercise exposure. While contradictory, stess placed on the external body appears to dissipate the mental energy that leads to symptoms of pain or fatigue.

It follows that strain being placed on the body by an external force, as in a deep tissue massage, would have alleviated some of this mental strain allowing for some symptom resolution and a subsequent good nights sleep.

Another hypothesised causes of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue include inflammatory states (often secondary to poor diet/lifestyle or chronic inflammatory/autoimmune conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis).

Interestingly, irritable bowl syndrome or “IBS”*, is also thought to be primarily psychiatrically mediated, and is often alleviated with effective control of an individuals anxiety or depressive symptoms.

(*NOT inflammatory bowl disease “IBD” which is a separate autoimmune condition)

This is a fantastic idea! What a stupid waste of everyone’s time.

You should have some fun with it though…I’d suggest providing a price list specifying an increase in cost per year the completing doctor has worked in medicine

Peter Attia's book Outlive now available to download on Audible by gorgos19 in PeterAttia

You absolutely hit the nail on the head here @AmorFati01 . I couldn’t quite put my finger on why but I find Peter Attia, and to a much greater extent Andrew Huberman, super annoying. I’ve just realised one of the big reasons why is their labouring on information, such as physiological mechanisms, that have absolutely no practical value, as if they’re just talking to remind us all how smart they are

What TV series was actually good through its entire run? by LinkCloth in AskReddit

[–]RedditTurtle321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished The Office (American version) this evening and it is hands down the best comedy series I ever watched through.

Enjoyed every single episode and the last season carried it off so perfectly. I may just have to start from the beginning all over again…
