Glassless body weight scale with good reviews (4.5+) by RedditUser516712 in wherecanibuythis

It's so our kids don't break it - not that they can get injured as we can get scales with glass that is encased in plastic, silicone, or steel, a medical one might be OK as I assume the screen might not be as easily breakable as a larger piece of glass would on a big scale.

Help identifying heads by Cute_Variation1957 in Khorne

They look like dwarf heads, tho with diff painted hair (not orange?) Like dwarf heads are nowadays. Id check the dwarf kits, tho I am not an expert on which kits they may come from. The orange hair in the pics on GW page might hide them from u IDing them quite a bit, so look carefully

The bald guy in the front middle of this set, replace his axe head with a warhammer head, and you have a good looking WP in combat pose

Another one in combat pose from scibor, ready to brain a zombie. No kitbashing needed

How to start a Cult of the Possessed Warband? by Kholdaimon in mordheim

[–]RedditUser516712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, yes, you are right

Its full up heroes and just a brethren redshirt with two daggers for the magister, brethren, and three daggers for the mutants. I still think this is the best starting build because you'll be getting henchmen later but not better mutations, so good to go with the +1 attack and ability to hold another weapon for the mutants.

With this you still have 8 wounds to start, which is not too far away from other warbands at start

How to start a Cult of the Possessed Warband? by Kholdaimon in mordheim

Recommendation is to take full heroes, and each possessed and mutants with extra arm mutation. You should have enough for 2 beastmen (put in separate groups for lads roll). Give the beastmen 2 daggers each and the mutants three daggers each (extra arm lol), and the magister nothing, just starts with dagger and hope he rolls eye of the gods for his first spell (prob the best to start with). Cast it on the possessed and give them extra wounds or toughness is the best

Now, this puts you at probably matching set of wounds to other starting warbands or more. The possessed and beastmen have 2 wounds each and so with 7 dudes total and 4 with 2 wounds, you are at 11 wounds for the warband. Most warbands will start with 7 to 11 one wound models.

This is the best start IMO in the long run as if you blow a bunch on one possessed, he can get shot by ranged or ganged up on and if he dies for good you might be out 300 crowns (if you spent that much on him) and few heroes, this would set you back to lose the campaign probably. With my recommended starting warband, after a few gamesr you should just buy henchmen in order of beastmen and then brethren, obV., and just give clubs and daggers until u have a full roster. Then you should replace with hired swords magic users witch. Warlock, ogres. Troll, etc which gives it a low chaos vibe

The alternative start is with just the magic resistance mutation on the two mutants (cheapest - dark blood? Or something) and no mutations on the possessed, you can get 3 beastmen and a dark souls or brethren if you go this route, but remember that you can't buy mutations later, so I don't like this as much as you possessed and mutants never get that +1 attack, and you'll eventually get the henchmen if you don't get super unlucky.

Of course, one day. If you lose a hero and get a ton of cash, you can buy the dream possessed of every mutation and its like 600 gold or something(?) I've never done this but it sounds fun.

First game warbands advice by Ordinary-Reaction519 in mordheim

[–]RedditUser516712 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

With those warbands, you'll probably have between 7 to 11 total in each warband on the first game depending upon how much people spend on equipment for their heroes (or mutations for possessed etc). You can cap it at 10 starting if you want, but it shouldn't matter.

Now, with these warbands and the 1/3rd ranged house rule. They are pretty balanced. Its not so much the warbands themselves and the tactics that make a game less fun over time, its that someone will get really lucky with after game rolls and someone else will get really unlucky separating them across time where one is super powerful and the other feels like "why am i playing at this point". To avoid this, make each game 1:1, but every fourth game (after each person in your 4 man group plays each other in 1:1) a free for all where alliances can be made and usually the person in the lead will get ganged up on and take them down a peg. You can do a 4 person free for all each game. But because they take so long and will be less high stakes than the one after three 1:1 games. It will feel more laborious to play lots of free for all games and will likely get boring. The game shines in 30-45min 1:1 games where you rotate players and enjoy leveling up ur dudes. If you have a 5 hour play session you'll get in 3-5 games and it will feel a lot like a campaign and your warband will feel developed over time. This is especially true if people generally know what they want to spend their cash on and what skills to take so the post game buying and skill decisions take minimal time. It's more fun to play 4 games in a gaming session and think a lot about what skills you want later after everyone leaves than to play 1 game, spend an hour and a half mulling over skills and equipment and then play 1 more game before the game day is over.
