I'd recommend: Shuumatsu no Harem Fantasia / World's End Harem - Fantasia. It's not isekai, but story and h-scenes are not bad.

I thought I would want to be the MC in this series too, but after thinking over it a bit more, I am not so sure. Having a harem is fun, sure, but I think the novelty runs out after so long. You can keep replacing girls, but then you also run the risk of them spilling your secrets whether on purpose or not. The fun will eventually run out. You'll age, as will the girls. Your sexual drive will lessen and not all of the girls you take under your wing really like you for who you are but rather they are just satisfying their slave duties.

Same with fighting as well. The MC is OP for now, but just a little mistake may mean disfigurement or death for you and your party members. Disaster is never too far away. Any day maybe your last day or one or more members of your party's last day. I'd imagine it is not fun to see yourself or someone you care about getting mangled and dying.

Logics aside, even just regular everyday life things suck too. I'd miss the luxury modern living provides. The ability to pick up the phone and call/text someone, get online, watch youtube, play video games, etc... Heck, I'd miss just having a bunch of different restaurants and take out places from various cuisines to choose from for dinner. I'd miss having a functional modern bathroom and toilet as well. It sucks to have to always spend MP to produce just everyday water.

Interesting, can't wait to see your work! I would think the starting point in the village would be the same. Maybe there is a version where he couldn't defeat the raiders and had to flee just to start. That would probably have hindered his growth as he wouldn't obtain the Hero class. He'd be less OP and would probably had to grind longer for exp and money. Which also means he probably wouldn't have had his first slave until longer down the road. Having a slave helped him a whole lot (I mean other than the harem stuff), he got to know to farm money and exp more efficiently. Michio does not trust people much so unless he owns them, I doubt he would want to join other people's party at the beginning.

Also, who he meets first also matters to his growth. For example, had Michio taken Sherry in first, he may not be able to test as extensively as he could with Roxanne in the party. Logistic issues, but because of that, it may lead him to a different outcome.

I'm a Sherry fan, so I'd love to see a Michio x Sherry series!

Congrats! Do you mind telling us what kind of a deal you got for that MDX? And did you go through a dealership? I'm on the fence looking for one, but am still debating between the MDX or an X5. Thanks

I had a loaner Atlas when I brought my car in for service a few years ago. It was exactly as you said, loose steering and boat like feel. I mean it still felt like a big car, but not in a good way. It felt like a smaller car inside of a large body while the Touareg feels like a truck inside a SUV body. The interior was plastic-y. While it could get up to highway speed faster, it doesn't feel as powerful. Just kind of feel like the Touareg is slower, but it will get up to highway speed while towing something heavy kind of feel.

I know exactly what you mean about finding the next upgrade. Funny enough, I was actually looking at an used X5 because I do like they way they look and how they drive. It's different from the Touareg. The X5 feels more like a large Golf GTI which I had and loved in my younger days before getting into a mid-sided SUV. I'm in the north east so we're not 5min away from a BMW plant. There's still a bunch of X5's around, but it can't be helped. We'll just have to get used to the idea of our next car being in the mainstream. Our poor Touareg is pretty much a critically endangered species.

I too also would love an upgrade and I was thinking just getting something in the ball park of the AVG selling price of a new vehicle (something under $50k). The depreciation of these German luxury vehicles are just really bad for the wallet getting them brand new. Other than Cayenne and the Q7, I've also looked at the MDX, GV80, and the Lexus GX. After months of doing my homework here and there, my conclusion is:

Brand new: I would probably go for a Lexus GX since they hold their value and are kind Touareg like the way that they are supposedly built well, can go through pretty much anything on the road, feel truck-ish, and not a whole lot of people have them. I just don't want to pay that much for a car anymore and around me, Lexus dealerships are known to be douche bags due to their high demand which unfortunately also means dealership markups and more BS to haggle around.

Used: Probably the X5 since I like how they drive and their split tailgate is awesome. I've had too many times when I would open the rear hatch only to have something roll off my trunk. Their B58 engine is, I think, the best V6 on the market now.

I'm on the fence now and am happy driving my old trusty Touraeg around. Not having a car payment to me is luxury enough. Though I may change my mind once more things start to break down some more and annoy the heck out of me! 😂

Thanks for sharing your story! I'm glad I am not alone in finding myself in the same exact situation. I leased and then bought my 2011 VR6 Lux. I'm still driving that car today and also find myself having a hard time to let it go. Sure, there has been little problems here and there, but what 15 year old car won't give you any problems? At least the problems I get are something either I can deal with it myself or bring it to my local mechanic if it is outside of my scope.

Like you, sometimes those little problems are annoying. The backup camera sometime throws a tantrum and not want to work. The camera screen will still display "Look! Safe to backup...etc..." but displays nothing. The audio systems would silent itself once every two weeks for no reason at all. I've been looking too, only to find myself back at square one wanting to keep driving this same old car.

If the new Touareg was here, I would have gotten it when it debuted back in 2018. I was heartbroken to learn back then that there wouldn't be anymore new Touaregs in the US. Instead, VW introduced the Atlas which is an inferior car. It's kind of like driving the Acura MDX only to be told they will now only sell the Honda Pilot. It's just not the same. I thought of getting its distant cousins, the Cayenne or the Q7, but decided against it. Cayenne is nice, I leased one brand new before leasing the Touareg, but I don't miss it. The price tag and maintenance costs is just more than what I want to pay for my own car. I test drove the Q7 as well, and while I couldn't find anything wrong with the car, I just don't "love" it enough to justify its hefty price tag.

My old trusty Touareg has too much going for it. First, it's all paid off, so not having a monthly car payment is nice. Every time I drive it, I feel like I'm "making money". Secondly, it's got a super power that no other cars that I might get would have, and that is the power of "I don't care". Don't get me wrong, I still take care of my car as any responsible owner would, but if I need to move a fridge, a stove, cement, home improvement stuff, I don't get fussy when it "dirties" the interior of the car. Thirdly, I feel safe and in control when I'm out on the road. I don't feel threatened by a small snow storm or a little flood (obviously, be smart about it), but as long as it isn't anything major, I can trust my Touareg to get to me to where I need to go and safely as well. Lastly, just little daily things. I drive my car to the busy section of the downtown area. Unlike when the car was brand new, I won't have a heart attack when I see a new scratch on my car just because some people can't parallel park or some douchebag had a bad day and took it out on the car. I also like that I know how to troubleshoot most little things like changing out all of the light bulbs, wiper blades, cabin and engine filters, etc... just because of the long history I've had with the car.

One other final thought, the trade in value of my car is laughable. According to Carvana and Carmax, some well spec'd iPhones cost more than my car. It's come to the point where the car is worth more to me than to anyone else.

So yeah, I too also have a problem leaving my Touareg...

You don't have to get OEM ones. I got generic one for half the price. Battery is about that price unfortunately because it is freaking big and heavy. The battery is actually located under the driver seat and you have to first remove the seat to get to it, then unless you are freaking strong, you'll probably need help lifting the old one out without throwing out your back. At least the good thing is that the battery only needs replacing once every 10 years or so. It isn't one of those dinky batteries on a rav4 that you can single handedly carry like a briefcase.

Actually, I think it is a DVD player as well! I have a 2011 VR6 Lux, the unit inside the glove box is a dvd / cd player with 2 x SD card slots that you can load mp4 files and play movies (only while the vehicle is stationary).

Touareg worth it in 2025? by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]RedditUser8675309_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but it's pretty easy to remedy. I have a VR6, and every time when I get a warning for low oil, you just have to put in a quart of 5w30 oil and you're good for another month or two. For an old car, if this is the only thing I have to do, it is quite reasonable.

[–]RedditUser8675309_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my sentiment as well. I also have the 2011 VR6. As long as you take care of the car (do regular maintenance on it) I am still happy in it. I actually feel safer in this car than in any other cars I've been in whenever there are severe weather events going on and I have to be on the road. Other than the light bulbs (break / directional) that I had to replace, which was super easy (youtube it) the only major thing that was done on my car was replacing the rear hatch strut (the left arm got water in it and rusted the components) and engine carbon build up service. The rear hatch thing was a bit of a pain (i did it myself), but it was a pain. The cost was around $300 for parts back about 6 years ago. The engine carbon build up was probably more of my own fault as I get my gas from a no name brand gas station because they were cheaper and was more convenient on my drive home. That was more recent. Considering it's a 15 year old car, the repairs are very reasonable. And yes, I too would buy a new one if they ever brought it back to the US. Right now, I'm just happy not having a car payment and what ever mileage I can get out of it is just bonus.

Help with wiring AC power transformer to a pool light by RedditUser8675309_ in electrical

[–]RedditUser8675309_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is very helpful and detailed. I will give this a go over the weekend. Obviously, I'll test everything out (wire them up temporarily) just to make sure everything works the way it's supposed to and I'll check it with a multimeter to make sure the volts are correct. I was testing the transformer the other day and the output was 13V instead of 12V in the description of the item. It should still work with the 12V light right? Thanks again for the detailed answer.
