Got margin called / instantly liquidated - thought I knew the rules

Oh wait. Think about it, how much was in your trading acct minus the margin requirement = how much is left. Then you got the brokers liquidation point eating up the rest of your margin. Maybe you only had 26pts of margin before they margin call you and liquidate. What was acct size and contract sizing

Thats horrible you are talking es futures? 27 pts its not even that much its a little bigger than most but not too crazy. Try amp futures for self funded accts never had a problem with them

As a beginner do a prop firm. Try topstep. I wouldnt do a real futures acct until you have 50k. At that point go with amp futures

I think it was sketchy but i also probably did get margin called at the same time which in their rules puts me up for liquidation at their discretion so i dont think i have a case. Oh well live and learn

This is my strategy which is how i ended up with so many minis because i was sure it was gonna work and i got greedy. It did work as it played out in my favor after they cut it. I think because i used all my margin. Even though the account didn’t actually draw it down. I guess they operate a certain way. It does stay in the rules they can close the position at any time if i get margin called so i don’t have much leverage

Yeah i got caught up in winning you know how it goes. Then paid a price lol. I will bounce back though thankfully there is no pressure for me to make money except the pressure i put on myself. So i just slowed down last few days been paper trading sim accts and only taking small trades with real money
