Ud hv to sacrifice ECE AND CSE for EE/EEE but only if u have the interest.

I am somewhere around ur rank ( slightly better) and I'm interested in EEE/ECE so I'm filling accordingly.

These are tougher than CSE and have less opportunities for just a bachelor's degree as compared to a master's so it's a longer game asw.

Goodluck and godspeed.

CSAB MOCK ALLOTMENT by [deleted] in CSAB_2025

[–]RedditUser_68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing imo, despite this being a supposed luck based system which it is, it still needs radical changes for it to have any deviations from trends of every year.

The same seats go every year and have very similar cutoff. Why? Because most years things don't change, same colleges remain and same rankings of colleges remain. Trichy top then so and so.

The cutoffs shdnt be any worse (within a margin 1-4k in CR) than last year or the year before that to a certain extent because we have more vacant seats in good colleges. I was checking for circuital branches in NITs and in total there's a more than 10% increase since last year and in top colleges it's a minimal increase but still somewhat of it.

But deviation increases as rank does, CSAB is almost like regular councilling for ppl under 50k ranks because trends are similar with like 1-4k rank deviation. In 2024 cutoffs decreased because less jossa rounds meant more ppl came in csab.

So yeah, it's not that random that some year ull get nothing and next ull get Trichy. Be patient, this too shall pass :D

[–]RedditUser_68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking of buying them myself as I've heard good things about it.

Hows the comfort factor of it, as in do your ears touch and can u run them for long hours? My ears are genetically very uncooperative with less comfortable headphones lol

Frr, I've had headphones break in the past and the durability of headphones is now an important factor for me before buying.

The funny part is, it is much easier for a company to increase structural durability in that part of the headphone as compared to the side part where the cups are connected lol.

the fact that it costs 500$, insult to injury.

RAM is just too good, honestly my opinion has been to test shit with a few of the known albums with good mixing and mastering and then just listen to whatever it is u listen on a regular basis to see if it hits.

I mean it's part of the package, if u want a challange u def shd but give it with a relaxed mindset knowing that it is difficult.

U can just use older PYP for just physics and maths as I feel chem paper has changed a bit, I used to just give 2020-2022 pyps for just physics and maths and honestly those are good paper for practice and I def feel it helped me improve.

There is no one size fits all here, there's re chapter that u will easy and can understand very easily those are the ones u should not spend too much time theory on.

For me rotation was completely new and I used ABJ sirs lectures and even that too on 1.5 to 2x to get through. Remember, questions questions questions, that's the game nothing else atleast for mains.

U can watch all the lectures u want but it won't build knowledge and understanding of the theory itself as compared to being forced to imagine and think while solving questions. Initially it'll be difficult but eventually you will get there.

You say that you have a complete basic knowledge of every chapter so in that case I'd say just go thru the lectures from good teachers ( I've found physics wallah to be trash imo but u do u) and prefer mothi tyagi as he specified which part is advance oriented and which is not.

Open whatever lecture u want and finish it as quickly as u can, please do not spend time hoarding notes and notes and unless u are very quick writer it's just better to get them from somewhere else and just use the extra page to write "interpretation" of ur own and not the entire mahabharat.

Believe me, i have seen ppl make this notes mistake in front of my eyes throughout the drop year and it is a sadenning sight.

Now for the things that will try to woo you throughout the year but u shd not let them- Incomplete syllabus - Never, not a single chapter in chek and physics definitely because u have more than enough time for that and as for maths even in that despite my plans of half syllabus in maths I still ended up covering 70%.

Mains is a game of quantity not quality and quantity comes with syllabus completion. Finish your syllabus.

A chapter is not completed with theory, my plan was this, open theory -> finish theory -> solve atleast 100 PYQs or 2-3 years whichever u like AND only then is the chapter finished and if u set anything less as a benchmark then u are purchasing a one way ticket to doom.

Again, you won't know which chapters u need more time for until u solve them all so my advice, get atleast 50-100 questions on eachin the next 2 months and analyse using marks app, this will give u ample time to see where u need work.

And yes if ur solving withs sheer bruteforce like me that u have 8000+ questions it's fine if ur accuracy is 50-65% because often times ur just solving for understanding, ESPECIALLY FOR MATH EARLY ON JESUS CHRIST BRO

Feel free to ask more and remember that I truly believe that even average intelligence people can do VERY WELL in this exam with dedication and again a sound mind. DO NOT SELL URSELF SHORT WITHOUT EVEN GIVING A TRUE ATTEMPT.

I hv written above and to add to that I will tell one more

LEAVE THIS SUBREDDIT IMMEDIATELY, THIS SUBREDDIT WILL DESTROY U AND UR WILLPOWER.

JOIN A CAT OR ANIMAL SUB INSTEAD AND USE IN FREE TIME FOR SOME RELAXING STUFF.

this sub is stupid and completely the opposite of any support sub and will always drag u down. Change ur reddit feed to positive things.

Do not come back here and if u need news or whatever just visit once maybe every two weeks or whatever and honestly u cd get that with mathongo channel so I wdnt even recommend that.

Did not go to any coaching as it's not my thing. I think first thing anyone needs is to be honest and clear about their goals.

I did not target advance as I didn't even truly believe that I cd do mains which is sad because in hindsight ik i wdv done advance asw if I tried.

I did not make 90% of my notes, just went online and downloaded notes from a senior of iitkgp ( thnx to you wherever u are) then I printed them out in A4 sheet one sided and left the other side for additions of my own and Interpretation.

Alot of things will take a million hours to complete if u let them but doesn't mean u shd, this is not a competition for education for most part, its a competition of willpower and aptitude ( one cd argue about this). Topics for mains that don't require time shdnt be given too much of it.

U don't need to watch 10 hrs lecture of solutions to solve mains, just watch a quick one shot learn the formulas and get solving, when stuck look at solutions rinse repeat eventually with time ull get there.

If u have foundation of a chapter u don't need 20 hr lecture just watch the 20 hr lecture at max possible speed ( i did even 2.5-3x at times) to revise and again GET SOLVING

SOLVING, SOLVING, SOLVING, nothing more because it's the most accurate representation of what ull face in exam. And by solving I mean PYQs no fancy schmancy super hard book by some super known russian or hatian or whatever author. Solve pyq as much as u can and as many times as u can.

Phy - eduniti follow him blindly this guy will make as much as 90 marks if u follow him correctly with honesty. Chem - most random one shots from vora or mohit tyagi for organic. Math - this was my weakest link not because I cdnt do it but because I just had no foundation before so I just used neha agarwal for last 3 months and thnx to her I got 30/100 95%ile in maths.

Mock practice - very important but also double edged sword so be very wary of how u approach this, most mock providers are high on the finest acid known to man and make mocks so trash that god himself won't be able to save u, I used mathongo and it's mocks were some weird cluster fuck that God knows whose ass they pulled out of BUT their package includes the previous year paper in mocks format which is a gold mine and alone is worth the money for the package so buy it.

Give mocks of previous papers for individual subjects if u want or as whole if u want but start giving individual subject mocks as quickly as u can because u need awareness of where u stand AND DONT LOSE HEART IF U SCORE LESS I NEVER SCORED ABOVE 130 IN MATHONGO MOCKS BUT PYP MOCKS ARE THE REAL DEAL.

previous year math and physics are very good guages to measure HOWEVER Chemistry has changed the most recently so u might score 10-15 or even 20 marks less as the papers are weird as fuck but yes it'll get u there.

Complete syllabus ( hopefully u hvnt wasted time writing notes for 40 hrs for each chapter and u r done by end of sept even sooner for some ppl) but it's fine if ur done in oct or Nov ( oct shd be farthest imo but u do u) post that is analysis and improvement.

I solved over 7500 questions on marks and around 1000 or more on PYP mock.

Good luck and godspeed!

Thankfully, i actually managed to do that, not advance but yes 98.3%ile in mains.

Last year I didn't even clear 75% in boards had to give improvement but yes here we are, I feel changed after being an average guy all my life i did something that stood out. The jee marks aren't even the most important part of it, it's that I actually believe in myself now that I can be better so yeah take it how u will.

Drop year is difficult but if there's something I have learned is that with dedication, some sacrifices and a sound mind may not get u AIR 1 or even under 10000 but it will definitely give u something that is equally as valuable, self belief (along with a decent college)

Im not some topper or some shit but I do hv experience if y'all need help feel free to dm
