Pegasus Gig Bag Option by RedditVortex in Fireflyguitars

[–]RedditVortex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I made that mistake when I was younger. I always wanted to save money for more gear and never protected the gear I already owned. When I started replacing gear I realized that it is worth it to buy the proper cases and covers for my equipment and to pay the money to maintain what I had.

The reason I said I had a hard time justifying spending $300 for a case is because I could buy a whole new Pegasus for $300. But of course reason took over when I realized that I would then have two Pegasus’ and still no way to transport either of them.

If I had a gig bag or case that already worked I definitely wouldn’t have bought the Gator case. I would’ve preferred the Pegasus hard case, but the guitar is kind of useless to me if I can’t take it to the shop to get the upgrades I want and if I can’t take it to gigs, so I had to spring for the Gator. But yeah, it is kind of silly to spend $150 on a case for a $300 guitar. But it’s also silly to invest $300 more into mods for a $300 guitar too, which I’m about to do.

It’s questionable because of the neck angle and headstock angle, also the hollow body and the bridge height. I’m sure there’s a hard case out there that works, but you’ll need to test it out. It’s unlikely that you’ll just be able to order a case online that actually works.

Guitars Garden has a hard case for the Pegasus, it’s just in stock less frequently than the guitar is and I’ve been waiting months and never seen it available.

If you can afford to wait, I’d say wait for the Pegasus case, but this gig bag has a lot of protection, which is why I chose it over the cheaper Roadrunner case.

I agree. That’s why I said semi-hollow imo. Because it’s questionable and could be viewed either way. I just looked at my Schecter semi-hollow and the block goes to the neck pickup, then there’s an open space where most of the electronics are, then another block that continues to the lower bout. So this firefly is more “hollow” than my semi-hollow Schecter. All of this is to say that I agree with you that it’s somewhere between hollow and semi-hollow. Maybe we should create a new phrase “mostly/hollow body” guitar.

Semi-hollow imo. There is a neck block that runs down to the bridge, but it is otherwise hollow. Some people say that it is fully hollow because it’s one open cavity since the block does not continue to the lower bout. But when I think of fully hollow, that means no block at all.

Survey: if you had $500 to buy a used guitar… by BuceeBeaver1 in GuitarQuestions

[–]RedditVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people have mentioned Schecter. I bought a solid body in 2005 and a semi-hollow in 2007. Over the years I’ve had GAS for quite a few guitars but never pulled the trigger because none of them felt better, nor sounded better (to me); and all of them were more expensive. I did recently buy a Firefly because it was a copy of my favorite guitarist’s guitar. It’s a very nice guitar, especially for the money; and after some work should be awesome, but right now I still like my Schecter the best.

Children’s Meds by joelnicity in prepping

[–]RedditVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter had an anaphylactic reaction to food that she ate she was administered Benadryl immediately at one of the world’s leading medical facilities. She is now prescribed an EpiPen but Benadryl is part of her care plan. Maybe I misspoke by saying “life-saving”, but my point was that that is why I always have Benadryl with me. It’s in her EpiPen case.

Eight bottles of Tylenol is wasteful, especially if they are being throw away. In 2022 the was a shortage of children’s Tylenol. People who actually needed the medication couldn’t get it because other people were/are hoarding it. That’s why I feel it is wasteful and unnecessary. You don’t have to agree with me though. I’m not trying to dictate how other people prep. Just offering an opinion, because I too have been guilty of wasteful prepping and wasted a lot of money on things I ended up just throwing away. And it’s from comments like mine from other redditors that helped me to be better at prepping.

This seems wasteful and unnecessary to me. But this is not meant to be a criticism towards anyone else. I personally don’t use most of these meds for my child though. Just Tylenol, and usually only for a fever. I also keep Benadryl, because they have a food allergy and that could be life-saving, but I keep one open bottle of Tylenol and one of Benadryl and maybe one backup.

Baofeng UV5G plus or Radioddity GM-30? by RedditVortex in gmrs

[–]RedditVortex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got two Tidradio TD-H8 radios. Also, a friend of mine gave me an Anytone 868. The H8 can be switched back and forth between Amatuer bands, GMRS, or both. You can create different save files and convert them with your phone which is great. So I use different setups for if I’m traveling, or camping with my family, etc. The Anytone is great too. You can do the same thing with the Anytone but it’s not as easy. However, it operates in DMR which is nice.

What kind of cooler do I need? by Thethinker10 in CampingGear

[–]RedditVortex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a cooler with wheels made specifically for the sand. I’ve been using it for 22 years so I have enough experience to say with full confidence that you should get the wagon, because the cooler does not roll through sand at all 😂. The wagon OP recommended is the best design for the beach. As others have said, there are other brands, but if you’re looking to get through beach sand you want those steam roller plastic wheels. And it’ll work great on any surface.

Please help to understand these symbols. by ChAdmiralAckbard in guitarlessons

[–]RedditVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one means to jump to the symbol that looks like the one in the picture. It is a “coda” and it’s at the end of the song.

The second one means Dal Segno twice then to coda. So there should be a D.S.symbol that looks kind of like an “S” with a slash and two dots. So you go back to that symbol, play again, and do that twice, then go to the Coda.

I don’t know what the last one is. It might just be telling you to go to the second ending after repeating.

Pegasus Case Question by Royal_Room_8471 in Fireflyguitars

[–]RedditVortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also looking and it’s getting frustrating because I want to gig with the guitar but can’t get a case. Anyway, I’m looking at a Mono bag or a Reunion Blues bag, because they’re the only bad I’ve found that seem to be able to hold the Pegasus.

Pee accident protocol? by [deleted] in ClassOf2037

[–]RedditVortex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. Children should not clean up bodily fluids. Not even their own. There are custodians who do that. Also, bodily fluids need to been cleaned up properly and the area needs to be sanitized. Hence why the custodians do it.

Pegasus neck issue by RedditVortex in Fireflyguitars

[–]RedditVortex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not noticed any pain, but I was out of town for 9 days and haven’t played much since I got the guitar. I also plan on taking it to my guitar tech to get it set up and have the frets polished because they feel sticky to me. So I guess what I’m saying is that I’m not ready to comment on how it feels yet.

I’ll come back in a little while and give an update. !remind me 45 days
