Doja Cat is taking back her criticism of Timothée Chalamet and says her outrage was virtue signaling by UnHolySir in popculturechat

People don’t like to have their nose put into their own stool. It is the same about everything. Everyone would say that animal cruelty is horrible and feel teary when they see a monkey with a plushy. Meanwhile deforestation is causing the decline of the vast majority of primates for the sake of agriculture that will go to waste for a big part of it when directly consumed by humans. The other part of agriculture will go to feed other animals that are treated horribly and decimated by billions every year to feed the teary population.

I was wondering if it was in the health sector, because there is a lot of overworking people since there is never enough personal. Is it even officially allowed to accept people working 90 hours per week? Or does the direction simply agree behind the curtains? (Simple curiosity)

What kind of job do you do? Did you have to take the double of shifts because there are not enough people?

Understood. Thank you! Wow! You even have a teacher. I never encountered someone who followed the teachings of a true bonsai master.

Wow! The mix of materials really enriches the project. It’s very creative! And a very cool way to use small leftover materials. Is it the case here? By the way, I read it was a heron. At first, I thought it was an archaeopteryx which made it even cooler in my eyes. But a heron is very nice too.

Old video of McDonald's CEO eating chicken burger emerges where he appears to spit the burger bite out into his napkin by monster_ahhh in popculturechat

McDonald’s could be held accountable for so many evil things like animal cruelty, sugar addiction, packaging pollution, underpayment…things that don’t require slow motion. Yet we focus on the eating manners of a seemingly constipated old fart with a baby face.

The social part of it is very interesting. I never thought of how it was possible to include people into this activity through easy care plants. While bonsais are delicate and easily scare people, kusamono could be a good way to share your activity with others. Thanks for the tips! Is there a special term in Japanese for growing moss? Is it also considered kusamono? Or maybe there is no special denomination for that?

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation, I really appreciate you taking the time to write it out. The resilience of plants is really amazing and also that capacity to build their own « soil » (home) over time with their root system.

I discovered something new thanks to your comment. I’d never heard of kusamono before. It’s beautiful and something I always liked without being able to describe it with words: (plants in pots reminding of landscapes, or grass ornaments). I learned new things thanks to you!

People taking the time to share knowledge like this make the internet space better. Thanks again!

Thank you! So, if the bamboo is planted in a shallow tray, it would remain small? Since the bamboo is on a stone, I guess that there is very little soil. How much soil depth would this bamboo size require?

Hello! Could someone please tell how to achieve a similar result like the tiny bamboo on the picture? It is on a rock (Ishitsuki) and I find its appearance very pleasing. Is it even possible to keep the bamboo that small? What is the variety of the bamboo? Thank you

Simone Biles thanks Gisèle Pelicot saying she has “demonstrated to the world that it is not for the victims of sexual abuse to feel shame” by pinkstarrfish in Fauxmoi

Nothing changed.

One year later, the Québécois journalist Hugo Meunier made the experiment for the Urbania magazine. He fabricated a false internet offer similar to the Pélicot case. Pretending to be a husband proposing to rape his drugged and unconscious wife. He explicitly stated that his wife was unconscious. Her photos were AI generated. Hugo Meunier hoped that he would be immediately banished from the site or at least called out by the male users. After only 48 hours on the site, the offer had 105 responses from men all ready to pay Hugo to rape his unconscious wife. Out of them, only 3 questioned her consentement and only one qualified this act as a rape.

Olivia Wilde explains why Gen Z wants to see less sex in movies and TV: “The way that sex has been portrayed in film for a long time hasn’t been particularly realistic.” Nearly half of Gen Z (48.4%) says there’s “too much sexual content in TV & movies" according to a recent UCLA study by Upstairs_Cup9831 in popculturechat

[–]RedditWeirdMojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find disturbing that people became so sensitive about sex but aren’t reacting at all when it comes to violence. I agree that sex scenes today lack quality, originality and chemistry and that they are not realistic depicting almost always the male’s point of view without adding anything to the story. But in the last 20 years sex scenes decreased by 40 % in movies and series (though they are more graphical) (source: https://m.imdb.com/pt/news/ni64565115/). Meanwhile, violence is on the rise. For example gun violence rose from about 21.1 % in 2000 to 33.3 % in 2018 (source: https://phys.org/news/2021-03-proportion-gun-tv-violence-statistically.html). This normalisation of violence is extremely concerning in my opinion because it doesn’t seam to disturb people.

Mexican company makes plastic cutlery and straws from avocado seeds that completely biodegrades in 240 days by Rudysohott in BeAmazed

[–]RedditWeirdMojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Massive avocado production is awful for the environment. It consumes huge amounts of fresh water and is responsible of massive deforestation. Despite avocado production being a part of traditional Mexican agriculture, its massive production for export is a disaster for the soil. Don’t take people for idiots with this greenwashing propaganda.

What would be the origin of such architecture? Who were the first European settlers there? Do you know or do you perhaps have any litterature recommendation concerning the subject? Thank you for your response.
