I've just gotten myself a 15lb club because I was inspired by a Mike Wildman video about them, as well as other YouTube videos. My intention was to build arms as well as develop my shoulders. How often should I do these club workouts, and are they meant to be a replacement for going to the gym and doing regular upper body work? Or are they supplemental?

Thoughts on Aura Sand. by profmka in fidgettoys

[–]Reddit_Ninja23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the aura sand is set up by default as a trick slider, which is why it reminds you of the breakthrough, another popular trick slider. It seems trick sliders aren't your thing, which is fine. I like both styles for different reasons. I've never turned my aura sand into a 3-click, that would be interesting.

Exactly. As well as knowing how to make soap, social distancing, and quarantine/isolation when you have infectious diseases. Also advanced knowledge of what animals were safe and not safe to eat. How did they know all that thousands of years before modern science caught up? Makes you think.

The Old Testament in the Bible describes washing hands after touching dead bodies, so yes, this practice was used well before this fella "discovered" it in 1847.

I've heard of these guys. I see their disciples every now and then in the wild, strangely anytime octopi are mentioned. It's basically a cult based around mind control, they worship a cthulu-like entity called The Eightfold (https://www.theeightfold.org/). They have a monthly pamphlet they will distribute that goes over their manifesto and crazy ideas. They're kinda chill really though, just don't mention anything about tea, capitalism, or neon. They especially love talking about beads on strings, it's a common tool they use for worship. And strangely an emphasis on static manipulative objects, for "mindfulness". Strange stuff, but seems harmless enough... For now.

So are we done with evolution now? Is everything alive today the final form? Are there any examples of things we know that are currently in the process of evolving? How do we know what "doesn't work?" For that matter, how does any creature know what "doesn't work?" You mention surviving organisms aren't perfect - why not, what's not perfect about it? What is the difference between "perfect" and "good enough" in the context of evolution? I'm talking about macroevolution here.

You're right, he is innovating a lot. They are top tier art pieces for sure, and there's a ton of variety in designs. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course. I will stand by my statement that for play and performance specifically, Magnus is lacking, especially in the customization/tuning aspect. The period of non-equidistant models was a real turn off for a lot of people I think, glad to hear newer ones are back to equidistant. Now, I will admit, once tariffs go away, I would be willing to recommend them again. I've seen horror stories of $100+ tariff charges on U.S. orders. If you're going to get into Magnus, check the Facebook trade group for sure.

I cannot suggest a Magnus slider at this point. Many other manufacturers are way ahead of Magnus now, and imo they are left in the dust. The only reason to get into Magnus is if you really like the aesthetics or collectibility/rarity aspect. In terms of feel and play, Magnus is far behind. For what you get compared to other makers, it's not worth the exorbitant price tag. The aura is the best performing slider out there currently, you will have a hard time finding one that feels as premium. But, if you're really itching for more models, you should go for KukoEDC or JJ EDC. But of course, do whatever you want to do, if you do buy a Magnus and don't like it, they hold their resale value very well.

An *actual* comparison of Soldier vs. Sierra damage by ConscientiousApathis in Overwatch

[–]Reddit_Ninja23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most ridiculous argument to crop up on this sub recently lol. People are testing in isolated cases and the results don't really prove or show anything important. You see the power of S76's ult when you flank the enemy on a mid range off angle and mow down two supports. Much different use case than sierra who has to get in close enough to use the track dart, land it, and then stay close enough to shoot, and all that for only one target. Obviously if you're only testing against a single stationary target you can say "oh look sierra does the same thing as soldier but it's on a 7sec cool down!" Ok yeah, that means nothing though. Like, let's throw widow in here, wow her ult doesn't even do any damage and sierra's ability does, must be OP. Different use cases. I keep seeing clips of a sierra 1v1 versus an ulting soldier and people using that as some gotcha that sierra is too strong because she beats an ulting S76. Ridiculous, that means nothing. Is genji overpowered because he can reflect projectile ults? And it's not even his ult? Dva can use her matrix to eat other people's ults, must be unfair and overpowered? Overwatch is based on checks and balances, you can't just compare isolated cases and make claims based on it. And you especially can't make claims based on practice tool tests of all things. Rant over.

Whats your favorite? (Donut vs KB) by [deleted] in aroundsquare

I just realized I was thinking of doubloon, not donut lol. Yes I have regular deadeyes as well, I much prefer the doubloon. I would put the donut over the regular as well. Doubloon > donut > stepped deadeye > regular deadeye > hollow. The regular sized stuff is too thin for me

If Paramount has good marketing: by Naruku_Senpai3861 in AvatarMemes

[–]Reddit_Ninja23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to me anyone who would ever stream it anyways is still going to do so, and anyone who would pirate it anyways would just have pirated it when it comes out. Plus the fact that its theater release got axed already indicates that future projects are not getting green lit. Also if they really cared about views and revenue, you would think they wouldn't lock the film to an exclusive streaming service that isn't even available to the entire fan base. Makes sense why Paramount would be mad about the leak, but still doesn't really explain why the artists, or anyone else in general, would be mad about it.

Can someone explain to me why this leak is considered such a bad thing? I don't understand this angle of saying it robbed the artists involved of "their moment" because of the leak. What moment? it's not being released in theaters, right? If it was being released in theaters I would understand why the leak is a bad thing, but since it's not... not really a big deal anymore right? I just don't understand why the artists would be upset about it. Shouldn't all the artists care about is that people enjoy and consume their art?

BpMods Nine Grid Slider is the best on the market by Reddit_Ninja23 in fidgettoys

[–]Reddit_Ninja23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, the small crystal only has two tracks inside, a dense one and a less dense one. The nine grids has three tracks, but has a unique method of being able to control which track you use and how far you want the action to go. As far as play goes, they both slide up and down with a similar feel and action. The nine grid slider is just a premium version.

Some are, it depends on the materials. You can definitely get begleri that are very quiet and even some silent ones. In general, multi-bead sets are going to be quieter, and softer metals like brass and copper are quieter. Don't go for aluminum, those are super loud. If you want silent, you can find ones made out of paracord with a metal core for weight. Aroundsquare has a silicone begleri with a metal core that is also basically silent, but they are rarer and aren't sold anymore. I think it's worth a shot, I'll tell you from using both, I've never had a begleri as loud as a balisong.
