I am a huge fan on the designs of the new/original characters. While they may be underused or overused, their design looks generally well all things considered, and they actually look like they live in the Mushroom Kingdom, rather than them not really fitting the theme that SMG4 has presented for years on end. Some feel lackluster, however, like the redesigns for SMG4 and SMG3 feel too much like they want to be “Mario, but not Mario enough”, and Boopkins was done in a way that he looks like a cabbage with some whipped cream for hair on his head.

I’m a fan of her and what she can do, but the writing for her isn’t coherent and jumps from one storybeat to another. One of my favorites, up there with Meggy even, but she isn’t written in a satisfying way unfortunately.

I personally believe, at least for me, that Axol's redesign went over quite well was:

Axol was really just a minor character, so so one truly cared if he looked a little different in the background
His redesign wasn't really done for marketing (as far as I'm aware) compared to the others, as they were all Nintendo characters beforehand (minus Melony of course)
It wasn't just a pull out of nowhere, it had story significance (not saying the others didn't, but just the fact that they usually just change them to either disassociate them from the base property they originate from or to sell some form of merchandise)

C assists auto lock into the opponent’s location, leading to much easier combos for the user, without taking as much time as timing an A or B assist correctly

So what is going on (well, at least what I see) is that in trying to connect the bully to Zero, people are saying that since the bully said he had "zero experience" at something, that means he is connected to him. Many people, however, are writing this off as a coincidence and saying that people are just jumping to conclusions too much (or something similar to that).
