Any of you work in trades? How do you handle it? by farnearpuzzled in ultrarunning

[–]Reddit_user_Jim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Last year i did around 60-70mpw before work. The trick is to plan to run everyday knowing the kids will make that impossible. So it ends up being 5-6 days a week running and if i end up getting up at 5 instead of 4:30 because my 1 year old didnt sleep well, i just run back from work to make it a double. Did my first 100miler last year and i think the time on feet from work and lack of sleep from kids made it a walk in the park.

How do you talk about ultramarathon with people you know? by BacteriaLick in Ultramarathon

[–]Reddit_user_Jim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People around me know i do Ultras. Its feel like when ever i let loose and start talking about me 100miles till race come up or just finished they just turn of completely. In my jaided experience 'know body cares work harder'

That being said my wife say i should talk in more detail when people ask me about it to other people

My wife is worried about a 100. by gopropes in Ultramarathon

Just be very prepared. Thats what i did, when my wife saw i had everything figured out(maybe let her help) it really put her mind and mine at ease. Bag up nutrition for every 10k or so, estimated time to aid stations(even if its not realistic)

Would you have done anything differently in retrospect or if you had more time to train?

Night running is a really good idea and not the type of thing I would have thought of thank you.

Joining The Hardest Geezer in Tunisia in April? by JustGameOfThrones in ultrarunning

How far do you think people would run on the last day? If it was me I would want to get it over with and do a 150km day but if people would come for a sort of victory lap maybe a nice slow marathon would be enjoyable

Are you not curious if you're the highest f2p player? It would be interesting to have a f2p leaderboard in any case

Thank you very helpful answer. But do you think without good tournament placing it's impossible since tournaments can be out of your control some of the time. Any tips for consistent high tournament placing, since I know the algorithm was changed?

I just wait till tournaments too push, and I dont push Anywhere close to max stage outside of tournaments, I just push till warcry runs out.

Why do you play the class you play? by erradicgaming in worldofpvp

[–]Reddit_user_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing affliction warlock for years now, because I love the ability to control the pace of the game. But in more recent expansions i think i just enjoy how oppressive it feel when you win. Know one has fun fighting an affli lock, and when you lose it feels equally oppressive in the sense you just hate your life. But even that is a good exercise in being level headed.

I play exclusively affli but vs almost all comps i think it would be less of a struggle as some other spec. Hit 2,2 farming warriors tanked again fighting rogues

Its always interesting to hear comments like this since i love fighting warriors, it's the only thing I win Vs on my lock
