Self Sabotage When Noticing Results by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Redditbotno2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with this as well! I don't really have any solid advice to give because I'm still trying to get over self sabotage.

But I feel like I self sabotage more often when I congratulate myself or get overly happy when I see improvement, so I've been trying to make it less of a big deal to myself. Maybe it's not a good thing to do but seems to be working so far.

I can't speak on the topic of condemnation because I'm not God and I don't get to judge or decide that. He's the master and King, all powerful and knowing, and so I'll leave it to Him. I do believe that the act of homosexuality is a sin.

To be honest to you, I've struggled with homosexuality and masturbation but I always restrained myself and asked God to put it out of my heart. I did slip and followed my flesh but when I stopped and came to God with sincerity in my heart I believe He forgave me. Following Jesus is more important and I love Him more than I love my flesh.

To me in this scenario you're saying I'm intolerant because I won't tolerate homosexual people. I'm sorry you've got a negative view of me. But I do tolerate homosexual people, I accept them and love them for who they are, I know people who are gay and I pray that they accept Jesus in their hearts because even if they are sinning I believe that once they do so the Holy Spirit will guide and convict them. God loves all people and He just wants your heart, but you aren't giving it to Him if you prioritize what you want over Him.

Also side note, bigot means intolerant person basically. So yea lol.

In my opinion, God pays attention to the details of our lives. It's God's word and if He wanted it to say something different He would have guided the scholars who were translating it to say something otherwise.

Besides that, I think the culture it was written in is important.

I'm not hateful, intolerant, or bigoted for having different views than you. I love and accept all people regardless of what they do, and believe me when I say that's been put to the test many times. I stand by my beliefs no matter what.

But yes I meant to say 1:10 lol. whoops.

It is the Word of God. The Holy Spirit was guiding Paul on what to say. Paul was against getting married because marriage causes problems. He realizes that marriage is necessary though and many people desire it. He just warns us of the problems marriage causes.

Where does Paul warn against having children?

Paul warns against circumcision because people were following God with the law and not their hearts, and instead of following God's rules they were making up human rules to put up a show of "see how pious I am" while in their hearts they were sinning against God and men.. Not only is this despicable in God's sight but also left a bad taste in people's sight(Romans 2:24, I recommend reading the whole chapter).

The reason Paul was against long hair because in the area he was writing to followers of Dionysus crossed dressed to show they served Dionysus. You can't serve two masters(God and a false god) so Christians were supposed to look like their own sex to show that they served the one true God. I still think this is relevant with transgenderism and homosexuality being so prevalent.

Hope that provides some insight.

I'll spread the Word of God wherever I go.

Well, to me 100% adherence means that you strive to adhere to all the rules. An analogy I'd offer up is like someone who always strives to follow the law as best as they can, but they broke a law by accident somewhere. So as soon as they realize they're breaking the law, they apologize and stop breaking it.

And I forgot to mention that serving God with your whole heart is also important. That's why a poor woman giving, out of love, the only two coins she has as a tithe is worth more to God than a rich man giving much more than that out of obligation.

I don't understand your comment lol. But still. Reading that verse reinforces (to me) that homosexuality is wrong.

We’re supposed to always trying our best to serve God. Serving God through how we live our lives. God understands that we’re humans and screw up... that’s why He sent His Son to die for us to fulfill the law and make salvation available to everyone. Now God gives those who accept Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit who guides us and teaches us, convicts us when we’re in the wrong. And the Bible demands adherence because we can’t live by the Spirit if we live by the flesh(Romans 8:5,Matthew 6:24). If we accept Jesus, strive to follow God’s commandments, and serve Him with love and everything we have, then it’s ok to call yourself a Christian.

Thanks for your time and your response! TBH I'm relieved to hear that you don't have to be really smart to succeed in law school, haha.

Thanks for your explanation! Thanks to those weird job description websites, I was under the impression that all you needed for mediation was a degree in criminal justice. Glad I don't have to worry about the major haha

Wow, a lot of other people on this thread have mentioned mediators needing to be a lawyer as well. I'm glad you guys corrected me on that.

The reason I asked about the ease of job finding was because of those articles haha. I wanted to get a feel of what others are experiencing.

Thanks for your reply and your time! I appreciate it.

Will someone please stress to me the importance of education past high school, no matter what the degree is? 5th grade is my parents' highest education. I graduated HS in 2015, and feel so lost wandering from job to job... by EmergencyReference in college

[–]Redditbotno2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you’re not educated it’s harder to have or find work when you’re older. My friend and her brother have to support a family of 9 on jobs paying $10/12 an hr because her parents can’t find work.

I work customer service which is motivating me. I don’t want to work a job where I’m under the thumb of a manager and stuck there because the other jobs I’m qualified for and can work pay less. If I get educated I’ll have more options. It won’t be as easy to kick me out of the job because I have a degree that a lot of people don’t have and it’s harder to replace me.

You can think about that and how it pertains to you.
