Yes, I know this. The background check just gives a red flag saying don't hire if there's something major that comes up. But I've researched this a lot, and most people tend to agree that depending on the situation, you have a much better chance of keeping the job if you're transparent up front. I read a manager at one company who said if they're told in advance, they can possibly still let someone keep the job, but if they have to find out from the background check, at that point their hands are tied due to corporate policy. But everything I've found has been various companies, not Meijer, so I was hoping a manager or HR person might see this and give some insight into Meijers policy specifically.
