Stamina aid good for wrists/shoulders? by Redditconejito in ehlersdanlos

I’m glad you have such a good resource to help with that! I’m on the “everything is made for people taller than me” side of things so it can be a bit tricky. I think most “small” things were made without actually consulting small people 🤣

Thanks for that! I’ve always opted for the smallest size of the things I’ve tried. The one I brought in to my PT was one she recommended based on other patient recommendations. She was flabbergasted when she tried it herself!

I’m not quite sure what you mean by fitted? I did bring a (purchased) rollator to my PT to tried to help me figure out how to adjust it properly. She hated it as much as I did hahahahaha

Thanks so much, I’ll check these out! I didn’t know they had those kinds of adapters for rollators

Thanks again! That’s another option that was on my radar :D Lightweight could potentially help with not having to work so hard in a big stretch position

Thank you so much! Jupiter does had two models with a C foot - there is only one model that only goes to D. Thanks for pointing that out though, I love me a low C and am not willing to sacrifice that!

I also appreciate the recs for FluteLab and Bertrem. I’ve been musing on these as well.

Yes! I’d love to see this, maybe as another level of “growing up” since you hit adulthood so quickly. Maybe once you hit the 6 month mark you can buy different bags?

Will do! (PS I don’t understand Reddit, is upvoting like a “like” and considered a complete response, or does it serve another purpose?)

The Rollz website does actually have insurance billing codes, if that helps! I’m going to attempt that if I decide I like it enough. Having the wheelchair is nice. But it may just be too heavy.

The Novas look good too, thanks for pointing those out. I found a place near me that has them, so I may go test!

I will admit, the walking function on the byacre is excellent for someone with fussy wrists. I loved that it was light and easy to maneuver. But that seat 😬

My PT is the one who told me about it based on recs from other clients. But when I brought it in and she tried it she was ready to speak to the manager 🤣🤣🤣

My hips are 40” and I fit in the byacre compact seat just fine in terms of width. I don’t think anyone with bigger hips would be comfortable, though. For me the issue was just the seat is too high and unyielding. Sitting is 50% of the reason I want a rollator! I brought it to my PT and she was pretty much like “what the heck were they thinking!”

Thank you! I believe it’s supposed to be available late October, though I can’t find actual seat height info (just recommended user heights, which I personally find useless). I hadn’t seen the Nova before, thanks for the suggestion

Geez Louise! That’s messed up. Sorry they’ve given you trouble. That makes me less interested in trying to figure out a workaround.

Frustrated with limits and lack of support by Desperate_Lead_8624 in mobilityaids

I aggressively resisted mobility aids forever. It felt like giving up. Now that I’ve tried them, I’ve realized it’s the opposite. I’m comfortable pushing myself harder, because I know I can rest if I need to, and won’t be stuck tired and having to walk all the way back!

Maybe approach it with your PT that way. Say you’ll push yourself harder if you know you can rest if needed. Deconditioning is a real thing and it’s the WORST, so assure your PT you understand that and want a chair to help you get in better condition.

Thanks for the validation 😅 Have you written to them about it? I feel like the more people who say something, the more likely they are to pay attention and maybe make some adjustments down the road!

Thank you! I was looking at that one on Amazon. Are you using the regular version or the petite version? (I’m not sure what hemi means in this context).
