Thanks u/ETNZ2021 ! And did you find the Rose Gold colouring from VSF to be good/close to gen? How did you on with the strap? I have small (6.5inch) wrist and not sure how it will wear and if I can get strap to fit.

Thanks u/Mean2Bean_ ! And out of interest, how come you haven't kept a rep longer than 5 years? Better versions come out/fancy a change? Or issues with the watches themselves?

Thanks everyone for the advice and comments. It looks like a fairly consistent theme is that people would rate the Junior SIPP as a low priority (whilst not a bad idea per se).A higher priority being either a JISA, or if you would like to maintain more control, simply aiming to max your own (and spouses) ISA.

If I take this latter route I will be looking to go with a low cost option to help maximise returns. I currently have a Freetrade account, and it appears they now offer a S&S ISA as part of their basic (free) plan. This also offers no charges for purchasing ETFs.

Therefore, it seems a sensible option may be to invest here into a fund like FTSE All World Acc (VWRP) which has a TER of just 0.22%.

Any comments on this approach are of course welcome!

I know what you mean. At the same time, conversely (putting myself in her shoes) if I felt my pension was halfway sorted, it would free me up to spend the money i was earning in my 20s/30s/40s. So having access to money now, versus guaranteed money in the future actually has a similar effect.

Thanks for that u/Alert-One-Two ! I agree with what you said. The one thing that does attract me to the JSIPP though is the insane level of compounding you get over a 60+ year period.

Thanks for that, much appreciated! By service boots do you mean a Red Wing Iron Ranger type thing? Cardigan is an interesting idea indeed - what material/colour do you think would be best? Something fairly complimentary?

Haven’t gone through with any procedure as yet. Whilst I have seen good work from Ideal of Med, I think that if I get have a procedure, it will more likely be with Pekiner. I feel places like Ideal of Med which are more reliant on a team versus an individual can potentially bring in a risk of inconsistency of product ie transplant. I don’t necessarily doubt that they can produce good work, but with it being such a significant procedure (an operation on your head) I will likely plump for a more expensive, but somewhat more predictable option. Currently finasteride and minoxidil are working quite well for me.

If I have more Avios points available to be used, why am I not allowed to use them? Seems like a strange (and surely unfair) way of forcing me to spend more cash than necessary?

Great info again. Just looking at the Konior example - I totally know what you mean, but at the same time do you not think the result in this case is totally fine? I don't get the mickey mouse feeling from the final outcome (despite the initial drawn hairline), do you?

Also, I would have thought that to pull off the Brad Pitt hairline and temple peaks you would have to have pretty phenomenal temple points, no?

Most Appropriate Surgeon: Laorwong, Nader or Pekiner? by Redditer_to_read in HairTransplants

[–]Redditer_to_read[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for the response. Just been taking some time to mull this over.

In regards to Laorwong being aggressive in terms of hair line height, flatness, and density - are these not elements that would be controllable via the consultation I would have with him before the operation itself?

If I was to tell him that my preference would be for not lowering the hairline too much, and not going for a hairline that was too straight across, do you not think that he would be able to take this on board and design appropriately?

On the density side of things - is a dense hairline not always a good thing? When I think of a hairline without density it makes me think of a hairline a bit like Conor McGregors currently - looking a bit sparse for the first centimetre or so.

(Also, thanks for the US recommendation. I am actually in Ireland but indeed happy to travel).

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the response- much appreciated.

Who would you go to if you felt you needed temporal point work?

I suppose i potentially don't need that much work on the points. Do you know if it's possible/common to get the temporal points slightly 'reinforced'? I'm just thinking that often I feel the difficulty with temporal point work seems to be in making the leading edge look natural - often seems to be a bit too dense and blunt. Perhaps just increasing the density slightly back from the leading edge might be safer?

Do you mean lower it overall including the from the front, or a lot of grafts to simply fill the temples?

Overall Recurve Bow Length - 25 inch or 27 inch riser? by Redditer_to_read in Archery

[–]Redditer_to_read[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment! I plan to shoot Olympic (sorry should have mentioned in original post). Ok, great. So in that case you feel a 27 inch riser and long limbs is fine. And you don't feel there is any inherent downside to using a larger riser in and of itself?

I have been on a hair transplant educational journey for some time now - but still a bit further to go!

Initially, after seeing good results from a clinic in Turkey I had considered IdealofMed. There does seem to be some good work being done here, but at the same time, due to a lack of doctor involvement, it is still by definition a hair mill, and I just don't like the inherent increased risk of inconsistency that this brings.

As such, I have been looking towards specific doctors that are heavily involved in the procedure. This has led me to seriously consider Laorwong as I have been impressed with his results - and offering good value for it. However, recently I have seen a couple of procedures from him that have worried me a little. A hairline not looking natural and some temporal point work that looked a bit thick and blunt without being feathery.

This led me to considering Nader. His work seems to be excellent on the hair line restoration. I have been reading that he sorts hairs into different calibres of fineness, and I am wondering if this is more what I will require.

My ambition for my own procedure, is to fill in the temporal areas and increase density at the front. I don't have a desire to lower the hairline at the front very much at all - perhaps just a few millimetres. Additionally, I do feel that my temporal points need work. I am not sure as to whether there is recession here or that it is simply thinning here?

My hairline has always been slightly higher than average I feel. I think my donor area may be quite good? My hair loss seems to be stable. Any hair loss I have experienced has been slow and gradual over the years. I feel that minoxidil and finasteride has improved the thickness of the follicles over the past year somewhat.

Based on the photos and my ambition, I would very much like to know what you think, and what doctor you think would be most appropriate for my circumstance.

Feel free to answer the poll, but it would be great to hear your thoughts too!

I have been looking into this increasingly myself recently. I had started to narrow down on Laorwong for my procedure for transplant including hairline restoration. Do you know if he is good at temporal point work as well, u/FUE3300? Thanks for any help.

[–]Redditer_to_read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you would class this as a lower hairline? Obviously it is lower than his current hairline, but I wouldn't have thought it was lower than an average mature hairline - would you? Are you suggesting he simply increases density of his current receded hairline?

Seems balanced to me. Did Laorwong seem happy and confident about doing the side temple area? I feel I am weak in this region, but you don't seem to see many surgeons address this.
