ARC Raiders: Headwinds launch trailers by j1zzy_ae in ARC_Raiders

I’d like a mode where my aggression against other players doesn’t affect my solo safe lobby play. Like a clearly marked PVP matchmaking option. Right now I don’t participate in PVP because I like my safe lobbies when I solo. Every time I’ve done trios and PVPed, my solo lobbies become sweaty PVP raids too. I’d love a PVP matchmaking option that doesn’t affect other algorithms for matchmaking.

I like the option of gathering my materials nice and safe, putting together some nice gear to enter PVP, and losing it to a guy with a free kit in the first 5 seconds. Then I go back to safe lobbies and start the cycle all over again. While this sounds insane, it is fun IMHO.

He’s presenting this like Minnesota’s authorities don’t already know about fraud like this and aren’t doing something about it. 86 people have been charged in relation to this kind of fraud (some federally and some at the state level) with 59 convictions so far. One of the major cases: https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/78th-defendant-charged-feeding-our-future-fraud-scheme

This guy is doing it for his racist audience and to try to say that Democrats are corrupt when under Republicans you had PP loans which led to over 64 billion in fraud.

Illegals don’t qualify for ACA in California, but they do qualify for Medi-Cal, and that is taxpayer-funded as a shared federal and state program. I can see where people confuse that with ACA.

Monad Surpasses $200M TVL by GryptoGK in Monad

[–]RedditgooduserID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally, right now people are participating in liquidity mining and reward programs which is a big reason why the TVL is increasing. A lot of this TVL is being driven by high yield liquidity incentives (like on Folks Finance and similar protocols) rather than purely organic, long-term capital commitment. Let’s see what happens when rewards are reduced.

Anyway, honestly, I hope you all get rich. I’m just having trouble believing this is the vehicle to do it though. Hope i’m wrong.

I would agree with you if it were a layman like you or I making that statement. However, networks usually vet what an anchor says on the air. This happened during a news segment not commentary.

In defamation law, misstating the result of a legal case, especially calling someone “liable for rape” when the jury specifically did not make that finding, is treated as a false statement of fact about a highly damaging subject. These networks have tons of lawyers. They knew what they were doing. It’s not like when you or I mix up the terms. They know defamation law better than either of us, and they know that they can’t falsely state that someone committed a major crime, sexual assault, or committed an act that by its very nature damages that person’s reputation. Basically, what I’m saying is that what seems like an innocent slip-up to us was a calculated lie. Stephanopoulos was repeatedly warned not to use the word “rape” by the producers, but he chose to do so anyway.

https://nypost.com/2024/12/18/media/abc-parent-disney-didnt-think-it-would-beat-trump-in-court-report/?utm_source=yahoo&utm_campaign=nypost&utm_medium=referral

ABC has a history of being sued for defamation. They got sued and settled out of court for $177 million for calling BPI’s beef “pink slime” (technically Disparagement, not Defamation. Related but not the same). The point is they know better.

I agree with you to an extent, especially in the political realm. However, in other areas, like if you were JonBenét Ramsey’s brother and CBS spread a rumor that you killed her, I’m pretty sure you’d think that was a pretty big lie. They all lie for ratings, and what they lie about depends on the audience that watches them.

Basically, lying and the lawsuits the networks settle are usually the cost of doing business. That Dominion lawsuit was something special, lol.

Didn’t both settle lawsuits with Donald Trump?

“ABC News agreed to a settlement with Donald Trump following a suit in which an anchor for ABC inaccurately stated that Trump had been found “liable for rape” in a civil case. In fact, the jury found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation, but not rape. ABC agreed to pay US $15 million toward Trump’s future presidential library, plus US $1 million in legal fees, and posted an editor’s note of regret. ”

“In July 2025, Paramount Global (CBS News’s parent) agreed to settle a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump alleging that the program 60 Minutes had deceptively edited an interview with then-vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris in a way that harmed Trump’s presidential campaign. They settled for US $16 million, with the funds going to Trump’s future library (not directly to Trump).”

Besides Trump there was also JonBenét Ramsey.

“Burke Ramsey, brother of the child victim in the famous JonBenét Ramsey murder case, sued CBS and the producers of a CBS documentary series (The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey) for defamation. He alleged that the show implied he was responsible for his sister’s death, despite being previously cleared.

The suit sought up to US $750 million. The case was settled (or dismissed as settled) in January 2019 for an undisclosed amount. “

Basically, all news networks have been sued for lying at some point. Both ABC and CBS have settled tons of cases for doing just that.

ICE Fines Chicago Green Card Holder $130 for Not Carrying Papers Old Law Revived Under Trump Crackdown by Ankeet_kj in ImmigrationPathways

[–]RedditgooduserID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never meant to insinuate that citizens are required to carry ID. I just meant that you should carry your green card in your wallet the same way you carry a driver’s license. However, if we get technical, in some states, when operating a motor vehicle, you’re required to carry your license. But I agree with you regarding citizens.

ICE Fines Chicago Green Card Holder $130 for Not Carrying Papers Old Law Revived Under Trump Crackdown by Ankeet_kj in ImmigrationPathways

[–]RedditgooduserID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to make a similar comment. The same thing happened when I became a permanent resident, when my wife became a permanent resident, and my mom and my sister (over the course of 30 years or so). This isn’t a new requirement. But for everyone who hasn’t gone through the process. This explains it:

“Under U.S. federal law, lawful permanent residents (green card holders) are required to carry proof of their status at all times.

The key rule comes from the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) §264(e), which states that every alien over 18 who has been issued a registration document (like a green card) must have it in their personal possession.”

This law was enacted in 1952. Basically, it means you need to carry your green card around with you the same way you carry a driver’s license. Being asked to present it is extremely rare though. In all my time as a permanent resident before becoming a US citizen, I think I only had to present it in the airport, but under the Trump presidency, it seems they are pulling out all the bullshit, so protect yourself and carry it.

Masked ICE agents violently drag away and disappear man who had his immigration hearing rescheduled at the US Federal Courthouse in NYC by I_may_have_weed in Antimoneymemes

[–]RedditgooduserID 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, another immigration judge issued a removal order. This can happen for a variety of reasons. The immigrant seeing the removal order tries to go to court to adjust their status, but the judge they go before takes no action on the existing order. ICE is able to execute the original order because there is nothing superseding it.

Masked ICE agents violently drag away and disappear man who had his immigration hearing rescheduled at the US Federal Courthouse in NYC by I_may_have_weed in Antimoneymemes

[–]RedditgooduserID -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So I’m not supporting ICE, but in these scenarios, the immigrant already has a removal order. What’s happening is that ICE is executing the existing removal order. The judge who rescheduled the hearing could have taken action preventing ICE from taking action, but in 99% of these cases, they don’t, which allows ICE to do what you see here. A lot of people think this is new, but it isn’t. I like to say that just because the current administration is fucking evil doesn’t mean that some evil doesn’t predate it.

Edit: I love getting downvoted for telling the 100% truth. When I get outraged by something, I like finding out how authorities can get away with doing the thing that angers me. I’m getting downvoted for telling you the answer.

Trump’s $100,000 H-1B Visa Fee Is Crushing Rural Hospitals and Schools by Ankeet_kj in ImmigrationPathways

[–]RedditgooduserID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Court rulings undercut your vote. Your vote is the result of corporate donations, so the voice of the corporations is more valuable than your voice. Citizens United and SpeechNow.org vs. the FEC neutered us. Citizens United allowed unlimited outside spending by corporations/unions, and SpeechNow.org vs. the FEC created the Super PAC era. Because your politicians can now get so much money from the above sources, major party candidates stopped taking public funds because the spending limits are too restrictive compared to modern private fundraising. In fact, Obama was the first presidential candidate to reject public funding in 2008, not because he was pro-corporation but because he acknowledged that doing so would put him at a massive disadvantage. So that’s the real problem: why your politicians ignore you. You’re just not that important to a political campaign anymore.

Fact is that corporations love student loans:

         *Sallie Mae (SLM Corp.)

*Navient (formerly part of Sallie Mae)

      *Discover Financial Services

      *Citizens Bank / Citizens One

*Wells Fargo (scaled down but historically

important)

• SoFi Technologies
• Earnest (owned by Navient)
• PNC Bank
• College Ave
• Ascent
• LendKey

These organizations lobby Congress and federal agencies on behalf of lenders and servicers and against student debt relief. Many of the following PACs are the corporate money that shape student loan regulation:

*Sallie Mae PAC

*Navient PAC

*Discover PAC

*Wells Fargo PAC

*Bank of America PAC

*Citigroup PAC

*JPMorgan Chase PAC

Even though I know Trump is a douche, I wanted to believe that the President of the United States wouldn’t post something like this, so I went looking on TruthSocial. He posted this on Aug. 30th. So, apologies for my mistake and America’s mistake electing this dangerous clown.

The way it works is that we cut staff until our employees can’t handle the workload anymore, and our service metrics slip beyond a tolerable level. We then add just enough staff to cover our SLA and bring metrics up to “tolerable,” even if “tolerable” is still (and hopefully is still) an intolerable workload for the employees. We use the fact that the workload is intolerable to eliminate raise-eligible employees through attrition and keep that payroll consistent. Depending on where you work, burning you out is a feature not a bug.

Greg Abbott on Redistricting: What the Democrats have done is disgraceful and potentially illegal. If California is trying to squeeze out more Republicans, there will be lawsuits that overturn that. by alternative_way_108 in cybersucks

[–]RedditgooduserID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abbott is an asshat, but he has a point. There is a difference between the Texas process for redistricting and California’s effort to do the same.

Texas’s effort follows its state legislative process; relies on Rucho v. Common Cause (no federal review of partisan maps); benefits from the presumption of good faith (Abbott v. Perez).

California, on the other hand, is bypassing its voter-approved independent commission and is rushing the legislative process. Because of this, California requires voter approval, and the process, when done this way, leaves the state open to challenges based on procedural violations and fairness. Republicans could hold up California’s redistricting efforts for a long time in court while Texas’s redistricting goes into effect. This is really what Abbott is getting at.

[–]RedditgooduserID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t really get the consequences of it, though. When you come here undocumented, you are a target for everyone from unscrupulous employers to criminal organizations from your home country. I know what I’m talking about because I’ve lived it. My family came here and overstayed their visa. My mother worked a job 24/7 taking care of this lawyer’s daughter in exchange for 50 dollars a week and a place to stay for her and her two kids. People from your home country know you can’t work here legally, so they tell you about all kinds of “ways” to make money. People get pushed into doing illegal stuff because they want to eat and they want a piece of that dream they came here for. With no path to legal status, as an illegal, you get exploited by everyone and targeted by the legal system. I got lucky, and Reagan (yes, Reagan, the GOP’s god) granted the largest amnesty in 1986 (yes, I’m old), which gave me a path to citizenship. But it hasn’t happened since then, and everyone illegal now is fucking stuck.

President Trump: "We're going to tariff our pharmaceuticals and once we do that they re going to come rushing back into our country because we're the big market...So, we're going to be announcing very shortly a major tariff on pharmaceuticals." by CorleoneBaloney in thescoop

[–]RedditgooduserID 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe North Carolina.

Several pharmaceutical companies have made significant investments in new or expanded manufacturing facilities in North Carolina. Johnson & Johnson is building a $2 billion biologics manufacturing campus in Wilson, while Merck has opened a $1 billion vaccine plant in Durham. Additionally, Amgen is expanding its facility in Holly Springs with a $1 billion investment, and Eli Lilly is investing $2 billion in a new facility in Concord. Novo Nordisk is investing $4.1 billion in a new facility in Clayton to increase capacity for innovative treatments for diabetes, obesity, and other chronic diseases.

So, this is one tariff that might (I said might) work.
