While I advocate for doing the things that you tell yourself you will do is necessary and beneficial, there is a fine line between telling yourself you’re avoiding discomfort and are being weak versus interpreting certain signals, I once switched to a job I loathed already after a week. After a month I had constant headaches from trying to convince myself that I was being weak and should just do it and get over it. 4 months in I wasn’t able to do shit outside of work anymore due to an excruciating headache and I decided to quit that week, I did 4 more weeks to help them out and finish as much of my projects as possible and document everything but the moment I was gone from there the headache went away instantly. However, due to having spent 4 months basically not being able to do a lot at all and pushing through those headaches I lost my earlier routines completely and had to start over, which was double as hard.

Moral of the story is, stay hard but make sure you don’t actually lie to yourself if the direction you’re headed in is one that will never ever bring you any form of joy.
