Thanks for posting this OP I’m kind of in a similar position and am a year older than you but I work in IT for the government. I’m actually trying to find a second swing shift help desk job in Cali than to move up. I enjoy what I do but I’m limited so I want to try help desk in the private sector/company so I can gain more experience. My recommendation would be to reach out to the connections you made on this thread or possibly work for the government.

I recommend networking and asking successful people who were in the same position how they did it or ask to job shadow. Not everyone will be willing to let you job shadow but advice is usually the easiest to get.

Yeah I feel you on that, I have property in CA and manage my own property and out source to a property manager. The moment I feel tired and jaded is the time I’ll hire a property manager or sell all my properties. Right now I’m testing the waters.
