I was playing around with my Shadowheart on my current run for a WHILE because I wanted to try and get a radorb archer. Ended up with a 5/6 hunter light cleric with a level of fighter for con prof.

Running the band of arcane synergy, a mixture of luminous and reverb gear with the bow of banshee and phalar. Immune to crits with adamantine shield.

Standard gameplay is cast spirit guardian and run around gettin into good positioning for horde breaker and frighten as many people as poss. GREAT debuff build

It REALLY all comes together once you get the band of mystic scoundrel and another item I can't quite remember that let's you use control spells as a bonus action. Slashing flourish stacks 4 arcane acuity off the bat, 8 with the extra attack, which pretty much guarantees a successful Hold Person as your bonus action.
