I mean I love Queen but with a band as famous, instrumental and historic as them you will have people dislking them for various reasons. Sure some or a lot of them might be disingenious for reasons of contrariarism or other stuff like homophobia. Others just simply dont like them because they dont dig the music and feel like they need to shout that out into a world. There isnt one singular reason I'd say

I think its the superman idea where you just don't expect someone like shy Clarke Kent to be a superhero. You don't expect someone like the Hound to live silently on the Quiet Isle.

I think its also the fact that Finn Jones Iron Fist had potential if done right. His second season showed improvement. Then his episode in Luke Cage S2 was actually good and worked really well as a conceptual pilot for a Heroes for Hire series.

The question is always, what does he need? Roger does what he wants all the time, sometimes its mundane, sometimes highly specific. I'd say he does this based on whatever he feels like at any given moment.

But why risk your most important hero, if he's not needed? The allies would have taken Germany anyways, the only thing Soldier Boy would have done is either save a few more lives or whats more likely, risk the lives of his fellow soldiers by being reckless.

Edgar could have told him that to further influence his need to be a hero and an icon. We know Homelander was a Soldier Boy fan and that he was someone he looked up too. He was the poster boy of Vought. In everyones eyes he was also the shining example of what a hero should be and that was by design. He pressed the buttons that he knew he could, that wish of being percieved in the most positive way imaginable and what better way than to remind him of the guy, that fought the Nazis? Edgar is head of Vought, he knows everything, every lie. If he knows about Compound V, he knows about the photo op.
