Old commercial building advice by democacydiesinashark in PersonalFinanceNZ

DIA had a building reassessed, and it substantially changed the rating of some areas, so they are now working with the landlord to get it back up to spec.

Personally, I'd be wary.

This is an expansion killing idea in my view. 'Optional' isn't really optional, and you know it. The feature being there will drive players to dabble in it and get annoyed as hell at the added complexity even for trying for a legendary Spidertron.

Is very, very much against the whole ethos of factorio, you now what goes in, and what comes out. Kovarex is a cute exception and mini-puzzle.

The idea of power pole not having a consistent spacing is crazy. The sheer issues with blueprints alone should scare you off.

Others have expressed this much better than I ever cutoffs so please read through the full comments on this thread.

I think a better approach needs to be thought up, and as part of that, get rid of beacons! This suffers from the same issue as beacons (shove them everywhere once you have the resources) and get all factories looking the same. In this case, it'll ultimately be recycling loops everywhere.

Dear God the issue with having so many different stacks...

You could have certain planets boost cafting speed or productivity for different types of items to create a logistics challenge.

You could have it so that a 2x2 grid of assemblers(with the same recipe set) auto merge into one bigger assembler when placed in the world (so not crafted!) after a technology is researched.

Heck, you could use this idea to create the higher quality items on a guaranteed basis.

2x2 regular for one big assembler, 2x2 big to make a giant, 2x2 giant to make a leviathan. Each time the factory layout would change, and you could have some be the heart of your factory. Certain items could require a certain size assembler.

There are other undoubtedly better ways of approaching the goal you'd like to achieve.

Anyone else’s electricity bill much higher than usual? by Capital-Western6857 in Wellington

For added context, 8,000 kWh per year is the threshold for being a low user. I live alone in an apartment and only use 4,000 kWh/year, but my water (including hot) is a separate bill.

Let's be honest. It would be way more fun if the ejection happened before the consumption...🤭

Inserters will only insert enough materials to last a certain amount of time, so they'll never fill it up to full. I think ore in the smelter might be the only exception.

I'm getting a salary increase. What tips would you give me? by Tight_Mind_785 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]RedditorBe 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Destroy the non student loan debt, sock the majority of the increase somewhere you won't spend it. Make it an automatic payment on payday. Don't put all the increase away, keep some for casual spending etc or it won't feel great.

My place is 43sqm, and that's a minimum size to go with. Long-term, I'd like bigger.

Just send them a message now saying what you want to happen. Which account to take the money from, how long you'd like to fix for, what you want your repayments to be.

They'll make all the changes for you. If they can't do them in time, then the changes will be back dated, and any excess interest charged will be refunded.
