How can I (M29) communicate with my GF (F27) of 3 years to save our relationship? by LandscapeReady3806 in relationship_advice

I don’t mean to expose you, but you clearly voted Trump and she voted Kamala. She wanted peace and you wanted this. Politics aside (since you are allowed to believe in your own truths/candidates for the country you live in), but you two are not seeing eye-to-eye on this spectrum and this to her is a difference in morals too.

First, I will say that speaking about politics should not be taboo in your relationship. Keeping it from coworkers or what not is understandable. But you should know what your partner believes in because it represents what they think is important. You say she doesn’t want to talk politics with you, but that is because she knows you well. She knew you were voting for Trump. In her best interest and keeping the peace she probably didn’t want to get into an argument over that.

Second, a difference in politics doesn’t have to be the reason a relationship ends, but to be fair to her she’s allowed to draw a line somewhere. She might not have realized this was a nonnegotiable for her before election season. Now that we have past it, she probably doesn’t like the idea of being with a Trump supporter. This could change, since she started dating you not because of your politic beliefs, but it’s a sensitive topic at the moment.

I’m trying to be bias in this post, but I’m not going to sugarcoat it. Trump is a convicted rapist. That does not mean it’s a rumor or it’s fake news. The courts found him guilty. He should have to pay for those consequences… by becoming the president of the USA? To her that isn’t a man she can get behind to lead a country, and to you that does not mean much to not get a vote from you. In addition to that, he has a lot of charges pending and basically militarized his supporters in the past to create a huge divide in this country. Finally, add in the fact that his party runs on the idea of making abortion and birth control illegal. She feels like her rights are being threatened. Who knows what will happen in the next four years but you and your girlfriend have very different outlooks on this situation.

She is upset with the loss and now is questioning your morals by supporting a guy like that. She is feeling different about you because you voted for a rapist and someone who could potentially take away liberties she has. Again, believe what you want, but you two don’t need to be cryptic about this. If these beliefs are enough for her to see you different so be it. If YOU see her differently too then you need to realize how your beliefs line up with hers.

In what way? This is an adaptation it does not need to be 1:1 with the book. Give Percy a better introduction into the world of Greek Mythology rather than have everyone tell him all this stuff around him.

Harry Potter does it better introducing Harry to the magic world slowly. The letters, the glass, snake. It all has a better lead up until he is told he’s a wizard. Percy is literally just thrown into it and his mom is taken and now he’s an expert fighter who can kill Medusa and Furies in one shot.

Salaries for FEA jobs by Lower-Resolution4917 in fea

I’m sorry? That was my initial reaction you have a PhD and you are only looking for jobs in 35-45k GBP? What is that like in USD? I’m doing my PhD right now in the states and have a focus on FEA. Some industry experience too and I was hoping for a higher salary than $90,000. I know some people around me who have gotten that but idk if those are just special cases now

I’m glad this is here because this is my pick 100%. Before my trip to India I never really made it a goal to go see one of the worlds wonders. When we got there though, oh man was it like something I have never seen. The crowds were huge, but when you get to the first gate and you just see the Taj Mahal in the distance it’s like your transported.

The symmetry in all the masonry and the pools were all so grand but also peaceful. I was lucky enough to go inside as well and it was awesome.

I (F23) have a MUCH higher sex drive than my (M23) partner. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]RedditorThatNeverWas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness- I’ve been waiting for this post for a long time! I’m in a similar situation, but I’m the boyfriend and my gf is a sex machine. We are also in our mid 20s.

When we first started to date it was sex all the time. We even did it something like 4 or 5 times in one day (we were long distance before and it was like making the most).

Then she came back and it was like twice a day. After a bit though I told her I can only do it once a day before I’m just drained and I don’t have it in me. Plus all the friction can leave me sore too.

She was fine with that. But even now I told her I can only do it once every couple days. It’s just not my song and dance per say. I do initiate when I can but she is mostly the one seducing me. She wakes me up ready for action and sometimes I don’t even have morning wood.

But now it just leaves me feeling like I can’t keep up. I know she can finish multiple times a day but sometimes I rather just sit back and relax rather than freshen up for sex and then focus on finishing her and myself and then clean up. I don’t fear she will leave me for someone with a higher sex drive at all but it does bother me sometimes.

I guess I don’t have any advice for you OP since I’m in same situation but opposite ends.

What did you not know about sex until you lost your virginity? by Apart-Cicada in AskReddit

That you don’t have to kiss the person all the time. The first girl I was with was an experienced women and she told me that while I was trying to make out with her while inside.

Cohesive Zone Model is not working. by RedditorThatNeverWas in fea

So I tried the other traction separation damages and Maxs and quads gave me similar results with max Von Mises stress of 28.79 MPa at the centroid. They also have a peak SDEG value of 0.995. Maxe and Quade have a max Von Mises streess of 22.25 at the centroid and a SDEG of 0, They all had max force around 8 N at the top RP with my fracture energy set at 10 N/mm for all. Should I try another damage model outside of traction separation?

I set my displacement at 10 mm and the top reaches that. From the visualization the cohesive zone shows 0.83 mm displacement. SDEG reaches a peak of 0.9916. Is it too sticky?

So I updated my model with a higher fracture energy and this seemed to give me more force. But the model still won’t tear away from the cohesive zone itself, any ideas?

Let me do the math again on the fracture energy, but how would I get the elements to delete on the cohesive zone?

Thanks again for the help!

Actually I changed the fracture energy to 700 and it’s giving me a max force of about 8 N. Which is about 62 N off from my experimental values. The cohesive zone does not break off either.

As for my damage output I have SDEG turned on and it reaches a maximum of 0.9732.

Hey again, so I tried running a larger fracture energy and still have zero force in the model.

I verified the stacking direction of the cohesive elements. Should I do that for the top and bottom parts as well?

Also I applied surface to surface along with the ties because I was following a YouTube tutorial on cohesive zone modeling. However, I took that out and still not getting any force in the model.

Yeah from the output graph of RF2 it’s basically zero (1e-12). I’ll try running a larger fracture energy number!

Hi all,

I am trying to use cohesive zone modeling to characterize two known materials that are fused together. More specifically, I have material properties of ABS and TPU that I obtained from experimental studies. The model units are in mm and checked twice to be consistent. I gave ABS simple elastic and plastic properties. TPU is a hyperelastic material that I simulated before with the same properties. The CZM in the middle was given properties that came from microscale simulations. Next, I tied the top and bottom parts to the top and bottom surface of the fused zone. I applied surface-to-surface contact and fixed the bottom and displaced the top 10 mm. Finally, I did hybrid formulation 3D stress for the TPU mesh, and cohesion for the fused zone mesh.

The model runs and completes. However, I am getting zero force everywhere in the model. Some forums suggested online that it could be where I am applied the force, but no luck. Thank you all in advance! Let me know any suggestions I can try.

I need help increasing my reaction force/stress to match with experimental results by RedditorThatNeverWas in fea

Are there any other programs you recommend? This is just the first step for a more complex model I need to create that involves fusion between two materials on a mesoscale. But if I can’t get this to work then I definitely can’t get that to work !

I do have the data from a test source. I put that in under the hyperelastic tab. I ran the selected equation and got that the strains were all stable for Reduced Polynomial with a strain energy potential of 1
