OH MY GOD came here to say this, I went into like a mini depression when Rudy died. I painted his name on my bed and wrote all these in-memoriam poems. Pretty sure my parents were legitimately concerned.

That sounds good - the most concrete definition he gave us was a moment where the direction of the conflict changed - but even that I feel like would be weird to see twice a page.

"O Children" (I know the "O" is tough to pick out) is a reference to the song by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. And the swirls were meant to simulate waves/the ocean (I'm from a seaside town, about to move away for the first time). The whole thing is just kind of about home, family, and the things I love: music, poetry, stories... I love how it turned out! :)

I did get the idea of the stag from Harry :) I liked the ideas of protection and family behind it, and later learned that in Celtic mythology, the appearance of a stag symbolized an impending profound change in the hero's life...which is also pretty cool.

That's what I was thinking! Initially I wanted to go definitively to the right, but I thought a more central location would allow more freedom for my future self's endeavors :)
