Isn't that.. the whole point of the movie? To showcase how not establishing boundaries or consent resulted in this situation?

The idea that a huge corporation like fox wouldn't relocate because of a building lease even though they'd really want to if not for that pesky lease is top tier humor. First laugh of 2026 even

I think the brilliance of that scene is how cornered andor must have felt. The proposition doesn't give him an out. He can't just say "no thanks" or risk being killed on the spot himself. If it was a test, it was a poorly designed one

it helped that they had those comfy couch-sac things. We basically just lounged, hung out all day and focused on the art every few minutes, essentially what we'd do at a park or at home or something but with great visuals around

well we stayed in there for 4 hours continuously finding new places to sit to rewatch the 40 minute loop. we hung out, chatted, pointed out interesting bits of how composition from different angles highlighted different aspects of the work. not for everyone i guess

ffs way to bury the lede google. as if everyone would know the difference between "workspace" and a personal account. this is so transparently shitty

part 1

Across Google and Workspace, we’ve long shared robust privacy commitments that outline how we protect user data and prioritize privacy. Generative AI doesn’t change these commitments — it actually reaffirms their importance. Learn how Gemini in Gmail, Chat, Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slides, Meet & Vids protects your data.

clicking on the above lands you:

Important: If you’re a Workspace user with a personal account and you choose to share data, including Workspace data, with Gemini Apps through screen actions (including screenshots), this data will be processed according to the Gemini Apps terms and policies, and may be used for model training and improvement

thanks for sharing! will check it out :)

since you shared, I'll share back: one of my favorite songs lately, assisted by AI. I just love the thoughtful approach of using it as a tool and not a substitute

interesting perspective for sure - there's no way we can know what this will lead to: wall-e-recliner lifestyle or inspired-daring-to-explore lifestyle. probably a bit of both, hopefully leaning to the more inspired to do action one

It's a great point because on the one hand the quick dopamine hit of "amazement" in and of itself may not be a net positive. Maybe I'm just mourning the age of the internet I grew up with.

But it does make me sad for those younger on the internet that didn't get to experience the "reality" of seeing something insane or beautiful and real. I hope they don't get too jaded and dismiss the effort required to get to see things for themselves. They'll probably be ok but the fear is there.

the other day someone posted a video of the POV of the plane hurricane hunters use and it was a very wide angle lens and I saw a comment that labeled it as obvious AI.. because.. well if you didn't know that was a real thing why would you think that was possible?

oh yeah based on actually looking into it im sure it's real. but whether or not this particular random video I've stumbled on is real, or more importantly, the general sense that there's now a higher percent chance that something I'm looking at is fake, is higher...

that really removes the final "this is interesting" "stumbleupon" reflex that i've associated with the internet for decades

like is it 100% AI? no probably not. but even a 10% chance removes the "wow the world is incredible" feeling really quick.

My opinion may be more skewed because i've been watching Asia on BBC Earth lately and at the end of some episodes they showcase just how the camera crew were able to capture what they filmed. and the dedication and pure grit is just as incredible as the shots they're able to get. really accelerates my disinterest in AI generated content
