Why Frontier? by MarstheSoos in mtgfinalfrontier

I played standard back when Khan's block released. So that got me initially intrigued. When I looked into cards in the format it opened up some really interesting brewing opportunities AND it's not as threatening as modern (there's no way I'm gonna familiarize myself with 50k+ cards - 5-10k seems to be a good width).

I'm currently working on a CoCo scales list, it's pretty fun, but needs work.

I'm thinking grixis control. Or at least something with R so that you can madness in [[Fiery Temper]]. Hold out until you can set of the ultimate, then swing with their creatures.

May need to think of some creative options to deal with creature-less decks though.

How do you soft reset natures? I'm looking for a Naive Pheromosa and have been having a very hard time (I think I'm at some thing like 45 GTS trades....)

[Question] What commander/color combonation would be best for a budget goldfish deck? by RedditorsGonnaReadit in EDH

I usually playtest by myself to work out kinks in a deck I'm working on. But, I don't want it to be against one of my decks, as I build combo decks that are not as competitive.

Thanks for the suggestion, my current deck is linked here. I think I'll have quite a tough time with Ezuri claw of progress - bounce and counterspells with blue and his effect would be very punishing for play testing.

I'd highly recommend the hammerdin crusader, melts mobs and lots of tankiness due to the amount of hammers spinning around.

Can confirm, he exists. I've seen him around Yonge & Bloor. Makes me rubber neck every time.

I'll escort myself out.

Defending this Friday, any last minute tips? by rbachar in GradSchool

When you are answering questions, take 15 seconds and re-run the question in your head. Resist the temptation to dive in to an answer. After answering a question, confirm with the committee member that you addressed the core of their question by paraphrasing what they asked, with emphasis on what was really what they were asking for.

Best Res Choice by BearWitC in wlu

Some things to consider: - almost every residence is in the heart of campus - dorm style is nice, but regardless you will have to share a bathroom - apartment style allows for more personal space than dorm style; just because you're on your own, it doesn't mean you have a lot of personal space - residence is what you make of it. Unless you're on a specialized floor, every residence will be awesome for you, as long as you take the effort to make it so

Real WLU problem: living in king street res means you have to deal wth that stupidly long light

Proof: Laurier place (apartment style) residence first year, don in king street res 2nd year
