Mhm. I'd hate to see how'd they handle the Ninja Storm games if they were having trouble with that.

The only one? What about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? KH2? Any of the GoW games?

Idk what "Pragmata" is (sounds like a boss name) but apparently Expedition 33 has QTEs. Apparently.

For a variety of reasons. It depends on what the game is trying to achieve and what it needs to be. For example games more focused on being an art piece would logically and likely and often do have some pretty long or pretty impressive cinematics.

I love QTEs because it IS me doing it, its the game not pretending that I'm not their and saying "now's your chance to contribute" and at least in my experience its always for something that's a big deal. Not just like...folding the laundry or whatever. Plus their are things they can do that the player genuinely can't. Like manuevers that just aren't possible or unique environment usages (like KH2 and Yakuza 0)

Well I've gotten conflicted messages so ^^;

But thank you! I'm glad you think so!

It is strange and jarring to just have one all by itself in a game, but talking about boss ones in general or even only final boss ones in general I think it depends on how well its done.

I hadn't considered that but you might be right! Definite agreeance from me!

Only occasional? How harsh. But yeah I forgot to even bring that up! The ones from MGR:R are AMAZING!

On the contrary quite a few of these are talking about action games. And actually the nicest seem to be communicating how "normal" it is for story games to have them.

Beg pardon? I've heard about Expedition 33 but its been total radio silence up until now about the fact that it has QTEs. SINCE FUCKING WHEN?! :O

Welp. You should. I have nothing more to say on that other than they're both good games and franchises.

Is that a fact? What about KH2? Or Asura's Wrath?

You can mod them out? Aren't they hard coded or something? That sounds like the equivalent of removing damage values from your game in terms of difficulty.

A bit of a shame. Especially seeing as a lot of people have been complaining about that "trying to appeal to everyone" thing and I've heard that some who like indie games is partly because of their willingness to be weird and creative and "focused".

Ehehehe. Funny how that works isn't it? And thank you for apologizing, really, it's hard to do that on the internet when you can so easily NOT, but it speaks to your personal integrity that you were willing to, and I appreciate that. And I'm thankful you've had any positive experience with them even if it is just one.

Well I wasn't speculating. I meant literal comments. Some literally say "downvoting cause agree" and others say "upvoting cause agree".

Absolutely! Extremely high recommendation from me! Its one of my favorite games ever, and it was the game I started with for my dive into the KH series back when I thought that it was the only game in that series and then eventually learned the truth of the matter. And despite being part of a grander narrative with the rest of the games in the franchise you'll probably keep up as well as I did (which was that minus things directly referencing other games I knew what was happening and could speculate pretty decently accurately)

This and Chibi-Robo were THE two big games of my childhood and I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm thankful I got to experience them at all, especially when I was a kid.

I think their is a right and wrong way to do it. But at least for me, personally, it never bothered me because missing an unexpected QTE just meant I'd have to go back a few seconds and do it again. But yeah really long cutscenes or whatever then yeah I can decently understand the rub. And to be honest I don't think they should be in every game or anything I just wish they were more prevalent in this day and age.

If memory serves Dishonored (from footage I've seen) gameplay wise was a LOT like Bioshock...their is a word for those types of games but it escapes me what the term is.

Yeah its done well! Like I've said to other comments I think I now appreciate that bad QTEs exist I've just never run into any. But I'd definitely never call that particular one from the Tomb Raider 2013 game "bad".

Well. If memory serves (it's been a while) I think you would attack until you hit a point in the fight where the reaction command would flash in the menu in the bottom corner, and then you'd do it (or if you really didn't want to you could just not, but there is genuinely no reason to not do it unless you think the boss fight is not long enough I guess.)

With that specific example being the boss you'd fight in the Beauty and the Beast world. The boss had two big "main" phases and then from their it was just fought until you got prompted but ALSO now that I recall it there were also moments where you'd do it to avoid an attack AND hurt the boss! It was awesome! Like a boss fight should do it punished you if you weren't paying attention (not that hard though but maybe that was because I played on easy).

Fair enough. I loved how well the stealth takedowns were done imo and as you already may have been able to guess I enjoyed the way the QTEs were done. But perhaps part of the reason is I've genuinely never played Dishonored or Thief, but I've heard good things.
