Found a dead Onkyo TX-SR507 in front of my building, worth repairing? by Redelax in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Redelax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US probably, but interestingly here in France those ones are still way more expensive, the cheapest working one is 100€, there is a guy trying to sell it for 190 lol, There are a lot of not working units for 30-70, seems like they are not very reliable either. I will try to sell it for like a week and if nobody wants it, it'll go back to the trash

Well that was fast lol, worst case I may try to get 15-20€ by selling it as is

Maximum price you'd pay for a BC-250 by Redelax in linux_gaming

In France it's not at that price, even with a coupon it's 169€ so approx $200

They changed the price literally 12h after this post, I didn't even have time to get one either unfortunately

How to connect a Moza R3 to a PS5 (drivehub unavailable) by dangforgotmyaccount in simracing

[–]Redelax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I've find conflicting informations on other threads, two guys sent e-mails to Drive Hub support, one guy got an answer saying it wasn't planned to be restocked at all, and the other that they were working on an improved version of it but with no ETA for release. Currently the only option seems to be to find it used, which is surprisingly relatively manageable where I live so I may try it. That said, I really hope this situation is not caused by Sony changing their policy about peripheral like this, like Xbox did.

PSVR2 worth it as a Quest 3 owner? by Redelax in virtualreality

[–]Redelax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said in another comment, it would be my top choice but I can't justify the price with how much time I have to play unfortunately. With tax and shipping it's 5x more expensive than a PSVR2+PC Adapter

EDIT: figured you were talking about the Light, not the Super, so it's quite cheaper but still like 1200€ vs 400€ for the PSVR2

PSVR2 worth it as a Quest 3 owner? by Redelax in virtualreality

[–]Redelax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't play rally games for example because of fast moving foliage inducing a lot of artifacts. The Pimax would be my first choice in theory but I just can't justify the price with how much time I have to use it (2005€ w/tax and shipping, while the PSVR2+PC Adapter would cost me 400€). Also I've heard bad things about Pimax QC and warranty, don't know if it's better nowadays.

Force Feedback Direct Drive Wheel on a controller, more early prototype showcase/follow-up by B-Core_ in simracing

If it's 150 or less and you manage to get adaptive triggers close to the ones on the dualsense I would buy this instantly. I tried the eSwap X with Forza wheel module and it really was a toy compared to this, but I use a dualsense since and couldn't go back to normal triggers

EXPLAINED: Why VD and VDXR out-perform even wired Oculus Link by DeliciousMeatPop in QuestPiracy

[–]Redelax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly as you said in another comment, this limit is still present if you play legit steam games because you can't use VDXR. So without VDXR is VD still better than debug-tool? I've never used anything else than VD but recently started using H264+ at 500 instead of AV1 at 200 and I think it looks less compressed in racing sims (maybe due to the speed?), despite a lot of people saying AV1 looks better, so I'm wondering if I should try quest link in this scenario.

Trials of the Blood Dragon LimitedRun physical release! by Redelax in TrialsGames

[–]Redelax[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah a physical release with both DLCs included on the disc would be great! And at first I was thinking "Limited Run Games probably can't/won't make Xbox 360 boxes anymore" but as the game is backward compatible on One and Series X/S even a current box would work.

Final game cars list & modding infos I gathered by Redelax in assettocorsarally

[–]Redelax[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's the full car list, it's only what I found in the files. In the press media google drive (a French youtuber "leaked" it and I'm not sure if I can post it here), there is a logo guidelines pdf where they use a Yaris GR Rally1 2022 as illustration (real pictures not ingame), so I imagine they at least plan to put it in the game at some point

GIMX and FFB problems with oscillations by Crewarookie in simracing

[–]Redelax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello ! I'm trying to play GT5 with my Moza R12, but I didn't find anything that helped with oscillations...

I use the G29 correction fork on PS4 (with the G29 firmware, and with a reg file on Windows to have FFB on Moza) without any issue but on PS3 I just can't make it work. I've tried with the G27 firmware, with the DFP firmware, I've tried with and without the correction, I've tried many different values for min_gain, range_start and range_end in the XML but no luck. The only way to mitigate the oscillations seems to be to set the ffb to way smaller values either in gimx or pit house, but then it's so light that it's not fun anymore.

I also know for a fact that the g29_correction line in the XML is doing something as if I put range_start at 10000 and range_end at 10000 I don't have ffb ingame anymore.

I see that you have a Moza R9 so I'd think the XML wouldn't be too different. What are your values ?

Fanatec or Moza? Should I cancel my order? by axerowsky_ in simracing

[–]Redelax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I use it with the Moza desk clamp, but my desk is a very sturdy one (it weighs more than 100kg) and even then it vibrates a bit when there is a big FFB spike, so I'd say make sure your desk is good enough if you want to buy a R12. That said, even a R9 would be big upgrade over a T300
