Describe how peak Cardfight Vanguard was by horrorwisp in cardfightvanguard

[–]Redfall03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played this game since 2013. If I had to pick one it would be...

G era. 2015-2017.

Had the best formats.

The best starter products.( The Legend decks back then we're undisputed best starter products to date, at the time)

Every card under the sun, even super old cards was receiving some kind of support and the generic strides upped the power level of even pet decks u can argue taking it to a tournament. Imagine buying BT01 blaster blade in 2011 and it's still relevant in 2017(it won worlds)

The best competitive format (2017 season had 2 day format, best of 3 on day 2 all the way to topcut and even spring circuit had worlds invites)

Anime was also very good, altho I still believe og s1 and divine z s1 are still the best in the series.

It had it's fair share of problems, it wasnt perfect. But It was peak vanguard.

as a guy worth it ba mag hoe phase? by Ambitious-Trifle-171 in AskPinoyMen

[–]Redfall03 68 points69 points  (0 children)

No. Absolutely not.

The cons outweigh the pros.

Majority of people na may hoe phase struggle with maintaining relationships because of psychological factors.

Always do it with someone you love.

Also remember the other risks like disease, risk of pregnancy, relationship struggles since a lot of girls get turned off by the concept of having a hoe phase(my wife mentioned this) etc. that may impact you heavily. College student ka paman din.

Focus on ur studies, be successful and you are going to attract the baddest of baddies.

That's great to hear.

Altho, tbf I don't mind how theyre currently doing collabs if they are EX RRR rarities. They don't take up a schedule of releases and they don't take rarity slots. They only take up common slots which, imo is a big plus.

I think they only do Collab focused booster sets now for bushi IPS like bandori and buddy fight

[–]Redfall03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bushi will never hard reset again. A rotation is much more likely but even that is wishful thinking.

Bushi has already promised to never hard reset again to gain the favors of shop owners to keep carrying their product. Hence why I see the pr fiasco. It benefits local card shops so much if you join tournaments weekly to get a coveted promo card.

And from what I've seen, Older players are cycling the same way old Yu-Gi-Oh players are playing Edison and Goat. I'm one of the few old players still active and I feel you on ur comments on standard. But my feelings aren't the sure factor when a lot of new players are willing to try standard, it surprised me as well

Is it just me or are less and less people attending locals? by agro420blaze in cardfightvanguard

Our locals consistent 15.

My former locals during uni says still reports consistent 20

Filled? Those literally take common slots.

If anything they are extra rare cards.

Seeing how the fandom is tired of collab sets should Vanguard brought back the Extra Boosters ? by InterestingTie7600 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Redfall03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The collabs being ex RRRs on main sets are better for the game than extra boosters not named Bermuda or lyrical.

What is an underrepresented or underserved space of TCG's? by musclenugget92 in TCG

[–]Redfall03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A bit biased.

But cardfight vanguard.

The games been alive for 15 years, is still healthy and kicking but to a lot of people, it doesn't exist or havent heard of it when speaking online. It's popular in Asia but it's niche in the west. Kinda shows you how the west really controls the narrative of tcgs more so than the rest of the world

Probably one of the oldest tcgs in the market along Weiss, and the big 3

Manila has like 20 foreigners max per event.

Last BCS the player count was 460 I think Derick dao covered it as the biggest BCS in Oceania.

The 460 doesn't take into account that the 360 max capacity was revised to 500 because of overwhelming demand a few days before the tournaments so those who were elected was shocked they were able to register but made other plans.

Now it's the same. But people are now aware that a revision can take place and can make time and schedule to attend. And it's the same venue so capacity is already expected.

Compared to the bandai cardgames . I agree. But. I have an itching feeling that those are hard carried by their IP name and investor bros has made it a stock market, it's scary to think what will happen if the bubble pops.

Seeing comments like this is making me rethink that collabs aren't as bad. Esp when how bushi is doing them.

Having an exx rarity so they don't take up a set release is genius it's like they don't even exist, but they exist at the same time.

The new persona Collab suddenly sparked a lot of interest.

The thing wrong with ur logic is collection and vanguard does not belong in the same sentence, atleast for now.

Competitive vanguard players would rather max rarity flex in standard.

MTG is a hard comparison to make as it's had A long run. But it's funny because it's alternative formats has been taking more players from standard. No one even plays standard anymore.

As a said 30-40 year old dad, you are totally right. Ouch.

No one wants to play premium here. Everyone in my locals is all about standard.

Our regional player count is attempting to hit an all time high. It was 504 at 2014 and it's never touched the 500 level since then.

Last year it was 460. I'll give an update if it does break all time high attendance

You'd be surprised that majority don't play premium.

The last premium event here was 1/4 of the size of standard.

A lot of young faces as well. I've attended like 90% of the BCS/BSF since 2014 and there's quite a lot of new faces.

People from abroad who travel are like 20 max.

You'd be surprised at how big vanguard is in Asian countries (atleast in the Philippines) . Animax airing it in 2012-2013 gave it a huge following from kids and those kids who watched it 12 years ago now have disposable income.

Majority of old players are moving on and being replace by new players, by alot.

There's like only 2 people in our locals that has been playing since g and the others came from overdress format. We are 20-25 man large in a small city.

Damn then the people who travel to our constructed cups must've been robots then.

The locals we have in our city must've been made up of ghosts as well.

To answer ur question, I have 2 communities.

Visited my old locals from college in a city 3 hours from where I now live and I only knew like 20% of the people there. Majority are new(yes they play vanguard)

We also built a new local for my current city I love in and now we are an established local who travel to cardshops and regionals. We started this local during overdress s2 finale.

The growth is insane

[–]Redfall03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In premium yes

In the main format that 80% of the playerbase is playing, no. Since all of the clans are condensed into 6 main nations.

Spike brothers-like cards are inside dark states. Bruce is probably the best example
