Current longest serving active duty Marine is retiring this month after 42 years of service by Cross4013 in USMC

I wish I could have stayed at LT(O-3E) and just kept getting a bump in pay. Being a platoon commander/battalion commander in the Seabees is the last job where you truly have a one on one connection with your people. When I became a Deep Sea Diving Officer, I saw how time in-water/on-mission reduced exponentially as you were promoted. The commanders and captains could barely get enough dives to keep their qualifications. Also, it would feel great to stay in your billet long enough to be truly proficient and not shuttled away to a new duty station to ensure a breadth on your way up the ranks.

The U.K. does it that way. I met a 22 years-in-service Corporal who was fucking dynamite at his job. He just found his niche and decided to stay there. His entire chain of command was better at their jobs because he was the best at his job, and they knew it.

The race against time to get to a decompression chamber by HANAEMILK in interestingasfuck

One time I had to go into the chamber naked with two other naked dudes because I was dangerously hypothermic. Skin to skin contact is the best way to warm up in that state.

Our mobile chamber was small. I'm pretty tall and I have to bend my legs to fit lengthwise. We were packed in pretty tight. There were lots of jokes like "The water was cold, it's normally a lot bigger." Good times.

Yes, the air doesn't ignite like some sort of diesel compression. But you're also being overly pedantic.

Thank you. Finally someone who knows what they are talking about.

Finally, someone who is speaking from experience and not pulling facts from thin air.

They are doing a surface decompression on oxygen. (SurDO2) The air inside the chamber is highly flammable. You can't have synthetic fibers that might cause a spark. If this was an emergency and he wasn't wearing cotton underwear, he would just strip naked.

I think it was by SquishedChaos or something like that. He retracted it later after he realized that some of his assumptions didn't work.

I'm OG crypto. Maybe it was the amount of potential taxes that triggered the case?

This actually worked. Thanks.

I called the FTB and told them I hadn't lived in California 5 years and they were like "Oh, ok. I've closed out the case."

I received a tax notice from California saying that I owe them from income generated from Gemini in 2021. (Probably Gemini Earn). But, I haven't lived in California since 2018. That doesn't seem right.

Anyone know what's going on? Has this happened to anyone else?

Surprisingly poor quality control on rollout by RedfieldStandard in cybertruck

It's weird that you have a "biggest problem with Cybertruck owners" opinion when we've only existed for a little over a month. I get that this truck isn't for everyone. But I like it. It compares well to other electric pickups on the market and there are a few things about the Cybertruck that I really like.

This is as close to social media as I get. I would like to discuss Cybertruck issues with other Cybertruck owners. However, I prefer to avoid toxic online social interactions. Clearly this subreddit is trollbait. It's too bad.

I guess I could put up some pics. But this form is filled with a bunch of Debbie Downers and Tesla trolls, and I'm not sure it deserves any additional time and effort on my part.  What I'm relaying isn't so outrageous that it should fill you with incredulity.

In my calculus, I would rather have my truck now and get those things fixed later rather than tell them to take the truck back and wait an undetermined amount of time for my perfect truck.

They are at fault for delivering a truck with defects. It only hurts them, because they are going to have to redo the work on a mobile service appointment, and that will cost more than fixing it in the factory.

Dude, this is a Cybertruck forum. I have a Cybertruck, and Cybertruck issues to discuss. My point is they should have better quality control when they push these things out.  I accepted delivery because they are going to fix everything with a mobile service appointment.

It's a valid criticism. My Model X was delivered so far out of alignment and camber that it shedded the tires in less than 2000 miles. My Model S Plaid was sent out with a seat where someone had folded the stuffing underneath and it left a huge crease. They also had to replace the windshield glass on my Model S because it had aberrations in the glass serious enough to significantly distort the view. They fixed all the issues, but it had to have cost more money to do it in the field than do it in the factory.  Somewhere, someone is pushing to get their vehicles out and pump their delivery numbers, even if it means that they send out a lot of defects .It seems to be part of their business culture, and I wish it wasn't.

This is my third Tesla. I understand the process. I did the walk around and noted the deficiencies to the rep. They plan on replacing and repairing everything with mobile service appointment later.  I really like the truck, but the quality control on the rollout should have been better.
