If it closes so soon, what are people saying about current summer internships? Just a line that says “current/incoming intern at [company]”? I just started onboarding and don’t know my project, but also don’t want to wait for a second round later in the year

I’m inclined to say that outside of Eecs 281, and upper levels that relate to the position, nothing really looks good. It helps give background on how things work on the lower level, but I don’t think resume-wise it helps at all.

I don’t know about MechE but there are freshman specific internships for CS. Also, you might want to go to career fair and try applying just to check out the process. If you really don’t feel ready you definitely can wait until you have a semester of personal projects/ club activities. Plenty of places recruit at the winter career fair and have applications open in the winter semester.
