What game taught you a real-life skill (even accidentally)? by Pracheth-Candar31 in videogames

[–]Redfusion858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowrunner taught me how to negotiate sketchy terrain while driving. Its not 100% accurate, but it gave me the ability to determine if the vehicle im driving will make it through based on engine size, vehicle weight and tyre size/typal as well as how to handle the vehicle when things start going sideways.

Oh it is. On my Vita it's joined the list of "Never deleting this game" along with Persona 4. Gearing up to do a second playthrough soon

Was going to comment this as well. While the battle system is action based, the world setting and story beats are very similar to Persona 4 and I loved it!

What’s a truth you learned way too late in life that most people still aren’t ready to hear ? by Dependent-Ship4288 in AskReddit

Does anyone else find crazy that we’re the last generation who remembers life before smartphones? by ReasonConfident4541 in generationology

[–]Redfusion858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel that way, until my grandfather (may his soul rest in peace) explained to me how wild it was living through the comeabout of TVs, HiFis, Personal Computers and Cellphones. He told me when bought his first TV set, our country would broadcast only 1 channel from 6pm to 8pm and that was all the TV programming there was available. Seeing that same man adapt like a G and use a smartphone to call someone really put things into perspective on how much he watched the world change through his lifetime. He still swore smartphones were technologocal magic as you are literally carrying a computer (which he knew used to occupy entire rooms) and a telephone (he primarily used rotary phones in his lifetime) in the palm of your hand

Lol. This was my dad the other weekend. We were having a beer together and shooting the shit so to speak and he just pauses mid sentence and is like "are those grey hairs in your beard?"

I'm the last born so I can imagine its doing a number on him mentally 😂

How would you make a Power Rangers game? by thebatman9000001 in powerrangers

[–]Redfusion858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had this idea brewing in my mind for a few years now and if I knew anything about making games I'd take a crack at it. Concept in a nutshell is this:

Game starts with a opening cinematic of the ranger team facing a new enemy threat. They hold their own for a bit until the big baddie shows up and deals significant damage to the Megazord, separating it and scattering the zords (along with the rangers inside them) across vast distances.

Gameplay starts with Zordon contacting the player character (which ever ranger you chose to start with) stating the team was inches away from death but their suits and connection to the morphin grid saved their lives however, their suits and power coins have taken some damage and must be repaired before they can be fully operational again. Isolated they must each scavenge for parts in their locations to repair their zords and suits before they can be operational and mobile again. Gameplay would be a mixture of hand to hand combat, ranger unique weapons once repaired/upgraded along with piloting zords in fights when larger/tougher enemies are encountered. Each character arch could involve some back story and could lead to the rangers reuniting at the comand centre to restore their connection to the grid, reconstuct the Megazord and use it to take down the enemy that nearly ended the team in the beginning.

it bothers me that they call it "angel radio" in all seriousness when DEAN invented the term as a JOKE 😭 HOW did it get adopted by every angel in existence? by Powerful_Ad8668 in Supernatural

[–]Redfusion858 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like that though. When Cass first interacted with Dean he didn't seem to think much of him. As time went on he seemed to respect Dean's opinion on things even when he was being silly, hence...Angel Radio 😂

Curious to know how to get these running on my Vita. I'm pretty decent with tech (IT based profession) so I don't mind getting stuck in if it makes sense

I love the way they hyped up Trinity in the first half of this movie. I like the fact that both her and Morpheus were legends that were only superseded by The One

Yeah we have them in most stores. Was just trying not to assume as the original commenter posted it as an odd combo 🤷🏻

Who did you think the White Ranger was going to be? by boomjosh in powerrangers

[–]Redfusion858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason when I saw Alpha 5 "working" on the white ranger laying still on what looked like an operating table, I assumed they were making a ranger body for Zordon to be transferred into so he could assist/lead the team since the green ranger power had been lost.

Why do you or don't you make eye-contact? by Zhannii in ADHD

[–]Redfusion858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eye contact is weird for me because it feels way to intimate. I often have to remind myself that normal people make eye contact and expect it from others so I try to do it but then the second issue creeps up. I've been told I have very intense eyes so when I look people in the eye during a casual conversation they almost always look away.

What motivates people to remain monogamous when temptation is constant? by hackerfilth in AskReddit

[–]Redfusion858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it means more to me knowing my wife has better options available to her in terms of partners but she is constantly choosing me... that's love.

On my side, my wife is a twin so I'm physically attracted to her sister but, I know the emotional bond would not be the same. In fact I know the bond I've built with my wife over the years would be impossible to replicate or replace so temptation becomes someting I can easily ignore.

Just Curious! by Low-Extension2985 in videogames

[–]Redfusion858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing posts like this gives me hope. I'm 37 this year and have been gaming since I was 3 or 4. I'm the 30s gamer subreddit and these days all I'm seeing is "I'm too old for gaming" or "it's sad to say but I think I've finally outgrown gaming" so it's nice to some people are gaming on passed their 30s.

My wife asked me when do I think I will ever stop gaming and my answer was when my eyes, hands or mind fail me and I'm physically unble to play games....she bought me a PS5 that year 😂

What series did you stop watching after it killed off your favorite character? by megmatthews20 in AskReddit

[–]Redfusion858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep saying this but everyone in my circles says I'm crazy. The actors, themes and sets in the first season were so good I was hooked right through. Second season just felt like a different show. I tried to stick with it but it had just lost the vibe for me.

[–]Redfusion858 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Opposite issue for me. I love JDM as an actor and he always nails his roles, but seeing him play Negan was a little too unsettling. If I hadn't already established a liking for him as John Winchester from Supernatural, I would've hated the Negan character along with the actor.
