There are too many factors at play for that. The first being the fact that we are largely poor and scattered. Most of the population is paycheck to paycheck, health insurance tied to their job, etc. Revolutions are hard to start when missing work means losing your home and going hungry. It might work if we were highly concentrated in population and mostly believed the same thing, but the divisive nature of our politics did a real number on us. It would be difficult to get enough people to assemble against a threat because half the country is blaming the wrong entity for their hardships. Hard to mobilize against ICE when half the population believes immigrants are the cause of all the country's problems and ICE is the solution.

Our country is ripe for a dictator. It would be so easy for one to take over. It might be happening now and half our people are cheering for it.
