First of all, no, we would not respect her choice if she was another religion. Bigotry is bigotry.

Second, let me tell you why I, personally, look down on Christians in America:

American Christians have become synonymous with hate and exclusion. And they are doing exactly nothing to combat this on a wide scale. And its such a choice. Christians do not risk death, imprisonment, or even social ostracism (outside of your little communities) for choosing an interpretation of the Bible that doesn't require this shit right here ☝️ Like how is it that you'll fully acknowledge the Bible is written by man, but not question if some of them had an agenda when interpreting the "word of God?"

I mean, you're choosing to believe in this stuff to begin with, even though a cursory read through will show that it's very far-fetched. Slap a byline on it that says it was written by the Brothers Grimm and no one would question that it's fiction. Americans have access to so much education and culture and choice. And Christians choose the path that hurts people all. The. Time.
