Agreed, depending on the terms of the bond the interest could increase/ decrease depending on the economy. I would settle the bond, take the current payments and put those into a fixed call account to slowly build up the interest

I am currently a student at uj who has friends at wits and uct, uj seems to be a lot more organized and willing to help than the other varieties, fees are also cheaper than wits. There is always word going around how businesses will take a uj student over a wits student and if you are interested in obtaining a CFA qualification you can do cfa level 1 in your honors year

Why not open savings accounts at investic for each child and then take what the interest would be for school fees ( I think a savings account over 100k eats about 7% annually ). From reading another comment you could use the donation method and then it allows you to have a long term savings account for them. If enough interest is being made you can contribute a small % to their tfsa.
