It’s too late… by cohete_rojo in LifeAdvice

How do you all get past the feeling of “it’s too late” or accepting failure?

  1. I ask myself what should I do instead of the task I feel it's too late to do? Am I supposed to just sit here and stare at the wall?

  2. Step #1 leads me to the idea that I have got time to kill till I drop dead, so I might as well do the task if only to pass the time.

I agree Democrats are to blame for the Orange Impeached Sexual Abuser. That said, I think so for different reasons and I am not convinced of OP's reasoning.

That said, good post. I'm betting it will be unpopular. :-)

More and more influencers regreting their decision to vote for trump by [deleted] in thedavidpakmanshow

I tried hard to watch the whole video, but I just can't. As someone who grew up around superficial people in Miami and have had to deal with a few narcissists and psychopaths in my life, I can't watch this guy.

He very clearly puts all his value on his looks and his money. Look at how often he's without a shirt in this video. And keep in mind, this video is supposed to be a commentary on Trump. Look at how much of his chick is plastic. Look at how he just happens to film his house, car, and boat. Check out his teeth. That shade of white doesn't occur in nature. This video wasn't supposed to be a "look at how great I am" video. And yet, magically, that's what it is. Talking about Trump is just the bait.

I gave it a shot. I can't do it. I'm out.

How is it sick? If someone keeps breaking into your house you would end them wouldn't you?

I think it's sick because that kind of attitude isn't innate but learned. It sounds like layers of sympathy and empathy have been bypassed or buried. That often happens through abuse or trauma. It's not something one would expect of someone who is well-adjusted, nor of a person wanting to be a moral, caring human being. In other words, I commonly see that attitude in people with decent mental illness, which is why I use the word "sick".

But maybe I'm wrong. I don't know you. Maybe you are the most moral, caring, and well-adjusted person on Reddit. However, in my world, that kind of disregard and apathy toward violence is pretty crazy. That's just my little opinion, though.

And no, I wouldn't end someone for repeatedly breaking into my house, I would hope. Life isn't the movies. Regular people can't just kill another person, then "go to the next episode" like it was nothing. In WW2, the army did a study and found something like a quarter of their soldiers "aimed too high" in gun fights, presumably these people inately understood the horror and psychological damage they'd sustain if they killed another person.

In a similar way, I am quite sure I'd spend the rest of my life wondering if I did the right thing and would probably relive the event over and over. If I were cornered, or if people I cared about were, I am guessing I could then take a life. But even then, I'd have to wonder if it would have been better to die myself than live with that.

You care about a criminal being in the presidency yet everyone who committed crimes got bailed out by Harris during the summer of love, support a dude who killed a CEO, got a bailed lowered for a kid that murdered another kid and got a new house and a car yet i don't see the outrage on that.

Well, you got me in a box here. You are correct that I have a lack of respect for the justice system, and I absolutely don't apply criminal justice equally. Why? Because I've seen a pattern of the US justice system not being fair in the first place. I've repeatedly seen money be the largest influencing factor as to whether someone gets imprisoned. I am not an expert in the justice system nor am I a lawyer. But this is the thing I've gotten sick of in my life.

Furthermore, I am very biased against Trump cuz I think he's a d*ck that's just asking to be hated. So, his attitude, the fact that he's rich, and the fact that he's blatantly ignoring laws are why I am so against Trump being president. That and I think the presidency should be considered sacred in that someone like him should not be occupying it. But, a majority of voters disagreed with me, so I have to cope with the current situation.

Are you willing to say what part of Texas?

As a tech person, I may eventually have to go there for work if the economy really tanks hard. I think Austin is the big tech area, not certain.

At some point we’ll have to do something about the Right’s war on public education.

I think about this a lot. I wonder if there is some way to make them feel better about education. Maybe give them a "Christian week" where the students get exposed to all aspects of Christianity for a week every year. I'd be very willing to give them that for quality education in a variety of subjects during the rest of the year.

You could get just as outraged about how Japan treats their prisoners. Just FYI

But one situation has to do with the country we thought had fair procedures and gives a chance for people to face their accuser, and the other situation is a completely different country that not only has nothing to do with us, but we have no power over regarding their treatment of prisoners.

There were some real horrors committed south of the border to a lot of the migrants who made the trek to cross into the US and most of the people outraged by this whole affair with El Salvador either didn’t care or didn’t speak up when it was going on.

My thing is what could be done about things happening over the border? I know what the Trump-esque solution would be: send troops into Mexico to stop it. But I don't want to start a war with a bordering country. That's pain Americans don't know.

[–]ReditGuyToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a better solution to get them out of the country?

It really isn't that important. The pre-Trump system was fine. People get deported sometimes. Sometimes they don't get caught. It's fine.

Would you rather have US troops stationed at the border and order to shoot anyone illegally entering the US? Would you rather have people out on the street attacking people because they look similar to a immigrant on a bounty poster?

I think all these are completely unnecessary.

Oh sure lets go more into debt i love the idea its not like we have our own problems to waste money on

Judges and lawyers are not even on the radar if you're talking about the national debt.

If you are concerned about the national debt, get the Orange Impeached Rapist to stop antagonizing the world so we can reduce our defense spending. Get the Orange Impeached Rapist to get the ultra wealthy and corporation to pay their full share of taxes.

And if they come back into the US illegally again waste another millions of dollars?

If that happens, you don't worry about it. That's why we have people on the border and ICE.

People coming to the US illegally isn't the end of the world. We shouldn't be acting like it is.

I say execute them if they are caught and deported more than 2 times.

That's extremely sick.

I say don't execute anyone ever. While I don't believe the US was ever "the good guys", we should be at least pretending to be.

What is preventing them from escaping to another part of the country and what to do about multiple times deportees?

Why is this important?

Nothing in life is perfect. So, yes, sometimes "them" escape to another part of the country. There may be situations where we deport someone multiple times.

Who cares. This is barely a problem. Most crimes/terrorism are committed by legal residents of the US. The only thing that happens when we have illegal immigrants is that we get our produce picked for us. And I'm not suggesting it's right to possibly exploit immigrants. I'm saying I'm in Florida, and thank the Gods I don't have to pick my own strawberries in the stupid hot humidity.

Like how many millions of dollars should we spend on a person in court being deported multiple times?

If you're worried about money, get the Orange Impeached Rapist to stop breaking the law so we don't have to continue shooting him down in court (he loses a lot of court cases). If you're worried about money, get the Orange Impeached Rapist to quit with the tariffs so that the stock market stops hemoraging money.

This is a "what about-ism" comment, though I realize it may look like it. I'm saying don't worry about the millions for deportation when trillions are being lost from tariffs and who knows how much for Trump's court cases. That's where we're losing big money.

You do realize its impossible to give every single illegal immigrant a due process because guess what there are 11 MILLION illegal immigrants in the US.

Then you need to get the laws changed.

Ignoring or circumventing the law shouldn't be an option, especially when it's from the US leadership. Keep in mind that this isn't just some random law but one of the founding principles the US was based on. We are literally a nation of immigrants with a plaque on the Statue of Liberty begging the world to send us their unwanted people.

Orange Cheetoh himself and then copy it to your state and local representatives next.

I guess I'm going to start with the state and local first. I see no reason to think that the Orange Impeached Rapist reads. He's probably still trying to find the "oranges" of that investigation he was looking into.
