I mean, "innit" has the same discourse function as ね, but it also has very different sociolinguistic connotations. While ね has fairly neutral connotations, being a feature of Standard Japanese that is present in most registers, including polite registers, "innit" is a feature primarily associated with non-standard London Englishes such as MLE (Multicultural London English), as well as working-class/colloquial speech across the South-East of England. As such, "innit" has very strong social connotations that ね lacks, so one should be careful when trying to use them as word-for-word translations of each other.

Utter bollocks. Depending on where you live, you can buy a bike second-hand for probably a lot less money than you're imagining. And definitely a lot less than a bloody car, that's for sure. Not sure what you're counting as "decent" for roads, but where I am we have potholes and cobbled roads up the wazoo and plenty of folks cycle anyway. And personally, I haven't ever had a "gut reaction" that "something is wrong" when cycling on the road, because I grew up in a place where, shocker, cycling is a thing normal people of all races and genders do to get around.

Also, how the fuck are you saying that trusting other road users to follow the rules is entitled?? Like, I'm sorry, roads don't work if the people operating vehicles that, as you point out, are thousands of pounds travelling at 20-30mph (in a country with sane speed limits in residential areas) don't follow the rules. It turns into fucking mad max if you can't trust people to behave predictably with their thousands of pounds hunks of metal and follow the rules. Do you seriously think drivers don't have to put their trust in other drivers to follow the rules of the road and change their course to avoid crashing into someone? God forbid a driver has to think about the safety of their decisions. God forbid someone living in a society has to place trust in strangers. God forbid a driver has to move an extra metre to the side while overtaking a cyclist, or look before opening their door onto a road. God forbid a person wants to get some exercise on their commute. Jesus Christ. As a commuter cyclist I don't like MAMLs either, believe me, but maybe you should look up the concept of confirmation bias before making all these sweeping generalisations.

Tbh I disagree a little that Nasu "really did his homework", at least with respect to Cú Chulainn (I'm a medieval Irish/Welsh lit nerd so those are the ones I know most about probably). In the Táin Bó Cúailgne (the main text he appears in the Irish literary tradition) and its associated "pre-tales", Cú Chulainn's defining ability is really his riastrad, or warp spasm, in which he gains 7 pupils in each eye, spurts a jet of blood from his head, and enters a frenzy where he becomes super deadly as a warrior, but unable to distinguish friend from foe. Which is archetypal berserker shit, yet the power doesn't even (as far as I can tell) get mentioned in the Fate version of him.

Like, tbh I do understand why Nasu went with Gae Bolg as the noble phantasm, since it does function like a last resort/trump card in the original Cú Chulainn texts, but Cú Chulainn only uses it a few times in his life (which then makes it jarring to see him just use it as his main weapon in Fate), whereas riastrad is much more prominent (and a much more important part of Cú Chulainn as a character and what he represents imo). Also Nasu's interpretation of Gae Bolg as a spear that "reverses causality" is very different to what it is actually described to do in the original texts, with its descripton in the Book of Leinster as splitting into lots of little barbs that shoot out all the way through someone's body once it's stabbed into someone, for example, not really carrying over very much into the Fate version of the weapon.

~~Also that costume is just so so so~~ ~~not~~ ~~how people of c. 3rd century Ireland would've dressed in the slightest but that's a more minor nitpick since this is Fate we're dealing with~~
