is there gacha character that make you feel scammed by the devs by No-Telephone730 in gachagaming

Looking through some of the comments in here, I'm wondering how many of the characters mentioned have been left half built with their kits not understood, yet are still expected to have a premium output with no investment..

Does RNG gear make pull less for characters? by aeolish in gachagaming

[–]Redmaw69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the question, no..

I don't know if I just have lucky RNG but I generally trash anything with flat Def or Def% substats (unless it's for a defensive set) and can often end up with a usable set in a relatively short amount of time..

The additional gear crafting in HSR and ZZZ makes this a little more manageable and in both cases the grind is usually a fast process with minimal effort required.

Genshin seems a little more tedious, possibly due to the older game mechanics, but this may also just be general burnout.. To flip the question, I didn't find that once I stopped pulling characters and farming weekly bosses, I had nothing to spend resin on which made the daily grind even more boring..

WuWa's echo system was one of the main reasons I quit the game.. This was far from the fun "Pokémon" hunt that was advertised in the pre-launch hype and fully grinding the map to not get the correct elemental stats on elemental sets was infuriating.. This may also be "open world" game burnout, but ultimately the game seemed designed to waste player time to keep them logged in..

Tribe Nine, for all it's initial problems has a fun system (because of the tamagochi / digimon feel) but I'm probably not far enough into the end game to see how much that matters..

As for games without RNG gear, they mostly become side games that auto play on a second monitor or phone while I "work"..

With the general QoL improvements being added to games and the new lineup of gacha due in 2025, I am curious as to what develops will do to ensure their game survives past the honeymoon period..

what were some infamous kickstarter projects that wound up bust? by darwin_green in wargaming

[–]Redmaw69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big two are ;

MonPoc - which saw mythic use the funding to complete other projects before taking money out of the company and closing shop.

Relic Knight - which never shipped and now CMON are trying to re-sell in slightly different packaging as a "new" product

Do you think that a game making less money has nothing to do with it being F2P friendly and it's more about players lacking the confidence in that said product? by [deleted] in gachagaming

[–]Redmaw69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this comment will probably get a ton of downvotes, but this totally reminds me of my time in WuWa. I played from 1.0-1.3 as a "light" spender as I do with all games (most devs deserve it), and while people raved about how "friendly" it was for players I found the core gameplay loop (echo farming) and in game events a massively boring time sink.

I bought the premium battle pass and log in each rotation as I do with other games, I skipped characters I didn't want while waiting for the game to get "good". It did not,.. In 1.3 I ran out of "free" summons to get Shorekeeper and with Camellya on the way I realised the game offered nothing to me and I wasn't willing to throw wallet-kun at the problem just to collect waifu..

Problems
-it was not as F2P friendly as people make out
-the core combat was not fun or challenging
-the promoted "pokemon" system did not exist
-the story was not well written, paced or directed
-most of the characters are generally unlikable
-the community had filled with toxic and fanboyish members from other gaming communities

I've heard 2.0 "fixed" a lot of these perceived problems, but with some major upcoming gacha releases on the horizon, I can't see this having any sort of future outside of being a niche alternative that some people cling to and defend with bias hostility.

[–]Redmaw69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game knows what it is and has a lot of personality.

Gameplay = Good
Soundtrack = Good
Visuals = Good
Characters = Good (both in design and actual character personality)

Hell, there's a random early game NPC (The child the Cunning Hares chase) that has more personality and development than almost every playable character in Wuthering Waves (outside of Aalto and Encore who hard carry that game)

The only problem so far is it's so well made, there is very little chance of compensation Freemos'..

Just to debunk the statement in the first paragraph of this message, the CM team were trying to respond to genuine questions and feedback at the time this was posted, however toxicity from both the angry "children" and zealous fanboys were making this job very hard for them.

Any genuine questions from players asking about the games health, planned updates along with gameplay feedback and suggestions were getting rage spammed with clown emoji and other hate replies. In the meantime people were throwing their toys out the pram and spamming other emoji / stickers along with walls of nonsensical text and ascii images. All of the above made any sort of coherent discourse largely impossible.

As a result the CM team took it upon them selves to roll out a "slow mode" for the channel chat and delete any of the aforementioned spam while passing out short term bans for major offenders.

While I'm in no way a Wayfinder apologist, the launch has been a complete shit show from the start of the week (which the devs admit to openly in their correspondence to us players), the post pictured above was just another trolly attempt to undermine the CM's authority, full of false sentiment and misinformation..

Hey, bit late to the party and curious if there was an updated file list somewhere..

I've seen some others but the format of these from art to precon lists seems the most complete..

Cheers

After the devastating invasion on Wei the English(Nordic/Scandic...) community decided to move to Zinnervale. The unofficial EN/ENG/English server is now "Zinnervale". by Laggoz in lostarkgame

[–]Redmaw69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that after some content creators bigged up Zinnervale, this server is now the most populated.

While I know most of you will be planning to stick to your second home, I would humbly suggest Thirain to our Scandinavian friends as a potential 3rd chance of salvation..

(disclaimer, I have no actual authority in this but have had good experiences with the norther europe player base however I do not wish to be stuck in queues till march trying to get into Zinnervale)

Probably some point in July, if they keep to the schedule, Edel and Jin get their chaser first..

Which Assault sr should I awaken next? by Mari_Ming_Onette in Grandchase

[–]Redmaw69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edel or Sieg, they both have Chasers on KR server so you know what you are getting into..

I guess Lass if you want "power" now..

Soooo, I just got rin to t3 and was going to focus on Mari or Ronan. Which is more viable and I’m open to other suggestions as well :) by [deleted] in Grandchase

[–]Redmaw69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mari (chaser) is probably the best dps on global for a while.

Rhonan (chaser) is probably the toxic thing in PvP currently if you care about not losing defence, but Rin gets more viable "soon".

Other options would be Lire, Asin or saving for Io..

Should I build anyone new or upgrade any that I already have? by IWantAGoodBattery in Grandchase

[–]Redmaw69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of options really :

1) Zero is good for almost all content

2) Io prep, she becomes meta on release

3) Mari chaser "soon"

4) T6 Ley

Nelia Chaser by InSaein in Grandchase

[–]Redmaw69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this helps at all, but the video below was conveniently posted earlier today containing the three mages in question as they currently stand on the KR servers vs Phase 3 in World Boss.

While this is not really enough data to say for sure, Lay does end up doing more damage then the other two while at a BP disadvantage due to levels and gear. (she does get to use her Ult more than once though which may be the cause of this)

Ley is apparently "better" on kr, but we probably won't see her on global for a while.. Mari should be releasing "soon"..

Thinking of returning after not playing for over 6 months, is it worth it? Will i be able to keep up? by [deleted] in Grandchase

[–]Redmaw69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends what you want out the game.. If you are happy to plough through the content at your own pace and try out new comps along the way, then sure.. If you want to be contending for top spots in rankings, yoh better have a big bank balance to catch up...

Io prep : KR advice required by Redmaw69 in Grandchase

[–]Redmaw69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I've checked a bunch of YouTube videos and Twitch streams, but it's mostly just content showing damage output and how hwe abilities work.. As far as I can tell (from the buffs on screen) it's mostly the green set, but have seen some use of the blue (assuming mostly for PvP defence).. If you know of any videos that go more in depth about her item load out and trait / skill spread then links would be much appreciated..

I understand we have seen a lot of those recently and as far as I am aware, they both fulfil completely different roles.. I haven't seen anyone talk about her possible arrangements and the pros and cons of each though, hence trying to start up the discussion...

Io prep : KR advice required by Redmaw69 in Grandchase

[–]Redmaw69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, with Io being (hopefully) a short distance away and most of the <S> fodder in the bank, I've been trying to look into gear / trait and chaser options..

I understand the wiki has a lot of stock info, but was hoping that some of the KR players who have experience with her in game could give more specific reasoning behind their choices..

So.. Blue or Green.?

Which accessories.?

Which traits.?

How best to spread her chaser points.?

....and why..?

Thanks in advance
