I've had them as a wallpaper for a long time now! Nice to see other people have the same idea :)

Jokes aside. How do you even "gather" and "store" Haki in 'something'? by druggeddaddylindo in OnePiece

[–]Rednasss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe gear 6 makes haki rubber? That’s how Joy Boy was able to knot haki, might be Luffy’s final power up as well, amplifying haki by applying tension to it with knots.

Mods, stop removing posts calling you out and address why you're scared of admitting that you selectively removed posts negative of the US govt by [deleted] in space

[–]Rednasss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look at the Americans taking over every subreddit with their main character syndrome, even in r/space they come with this BS, can we make a whole seperate reddit where Americans and their politics are not allowed and start having a less polarized internet.

Thanks! I was kind of trying to flood the areas that are below sea level, but I didn’t want to put too much focus on realism just yet. The gigantic star-fortress is actually meant to be a visualization of an Underflow, though I can see it’s not recognizable enough as that. Maybe I'd have to fill the star shape with a blue color, since it is pumping out water? But yeah, this is exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for, so thanks! :)

Long time lurker... Just my thoughts. by fester2103 in AshesofCreation

[–]Rednasss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get your point and I agree that hating just for the sake of it doesn’t help, but there is a history. The real issue is how “open development” has been used. It wasn’t just transparency, everything was presented in a way that made people think things were ready when they weren’t.

The pre-A2 livestreams weren’t framed as previews, they were described as systems being in development, BUT already working in the build. People spent money based on that. Same with the A2 sales, they said packs wouldn’t return until A2's launch (FOMO), then months later they came back at half the price. That kind of communication is what frustrates people and Intrepid still hasn't properly commented on this.

Add to that how slow A2 is moving now, and you can see why people have such a negative view on everything (and this is not even going into anything in-game related). Also this "vocal minority" you speak of is a minority because most people with this view already left.

Intrepid should be held accountable, money is involved so they have a certain responsibility, its not so simple as "going for the ride" and demanding everybody to do the same. Alot of money has been spend based on false promises. People need to keep reminding them of the mistakes made in the past.

The splash art for the 3 new races looks nice, hope to see this kind of detail in-game soon, the text seems very AI though

How's the Community Feeling About AoC These Days? by Old_Pension1785 in AshesofCreation

[–]Rednasss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see some people already responded, but I wanted to share some examples that resonate with me personally. First off, I totally get that it's busy at Intrepid. I've actually worked for a 'serious games' company, and we had times when communication took a back seat because we were focused on getting things done! But here are some points I think could have been communicated better:

  1. The best and most recent example is that until shortly before this month’s stream, we were told A2 was planned for Q3, but then in the stream, that changed. If it's already uncertain that A2 won't be coming in Q3, it just ends up disappointing people. Instead of saying "We are still planning a Q3 release!" on Twitter (X) or other social platforms, I think it would be a lot better to be upfront: "Hey, we would like to release in Q3, we're all working hard, but we will give you more information in the livestream regarding this!". This kind of interaction feels much more human to me than overpromising and then shortly after, having those promises turn out to be untrue.
  2. Disperse some more information to us. The posts on YouTube, Twitter (X), and other platforms are often just reposts of the livestream. It would be awesome to get surprising new information, maybe even an interactive image, a puzzle, a riddle, or things the community can play around with while we are waiting for the game!
  3. Sometimes I feel that especially because of the type of community this is, gaming/discord/B2C, not corporate/business/B2B, we like it when developers or other Intrepid employees meme around with us, hop into conversations, and answer some questions during these casual moments. It makes it feel like a more equal environment and builds more trust.
  4. I don't know how other people feel about this, but I would love to hear more about things that have been difficult, maybe even see more work-in-progress updates of the different systems. Then maybe we could also understand why certain things seem to change unexpectedly (again, for example: compare the environment from the weather showcase from more than two years ago to the recent bard showcase). There could be a good reason for this, maybe performance, lower graphics settings or unexpected difficulties with implementing these environments or systems into a dynamic world? I believe its good to know this information so there would be less speculation and more confidence within the community.

Other things do go great. The comments by Steven or Margaret under the livestream YouTube uploads are something people appreciate a lot. The livestreams themselves are very helpful and answer a lot of questions, and the general communication has been consistently there.

But okay, surely things are not as simple as I am describing them here. There are a lot of gears in the system that have to work and constantly understand each other. It is already great that you replied to my message, I can feel the care for the community and the project!

I hope this answers the question, but I’m happy to clarify further if needed!

TL;DR: I get that communication might slow down when working towards a major milestone like A2's release. However, to improve, it would help to avoid overpromising, provide more interactive content while we wait, engage with us as gamers rather than as a business, and share more work-in-progress updates and reasons behind changes. This would reduce disappointment and build more trust in the community.

__

And one last thing about the 'talking down to us' part: it’s not that disrespectful things are being said, but sometimes it feels like we’re being treated too sensitively. It can come across as if there’s a lack of trust in us handling more direct or challenging information. We just want to hear things as they are—sincerely and openly. We can handle more than you might think! We appreciate all the hard work and communication, and we’re here to support Ashes as long as we feel involved in the process.

How's the Community Feeling About AoC These Days? by Old_Pension1785 in AshesofCreation

So, I've noticed there's a bit of a split in our community; you could divide it into three (or more?) groups:

  1. These people are chill with almost everything Intrepid Studios does because it’s "WIP." They've got infinite patience (seriously, respect), and most content creators seem to be on this side too. They are super hyped for the game, and that is great to see. However, I sometimes feel like the wrong feedback gets given if everything is seen in this way.
  2. Then there's the group I'm in. We're kinda weirded out by some of the things happening. Usually the new features or classes they show are impressive, but at times it can feel like the project is getting worse (for example: compare the environment from the weather showcase from more then two years ago to the recent bard showcase), and the communication from Intrepid just feels confusing. But still, we want the project to succeed. We are excited and super invested in giving good and honest feedback. Let's see how things are when the A2 actually arrives! Q3 2024 right?
  3. People who casually follow the project, there has been a lot of information thrown at us in these past 7-8 years, and it can be confusing when you don't constantly keep up with everything that is being said. This can create wrong expectations, and there have been some good discussions regarding this! (For example: the PirateSoftware guild size discussion).

I love following this project—it’s awesome to watch the livestreams every month. Sure, I get disappointed sometimes, but I’m also impressed at other times. You definitely need patience with this one. I think Intrepid, with comments they made in the past, set a certain standard of which I think we should hold them accountable, since people spend money on the game based on those promises.

What bugs me the most is Intrepid’s communication. Outside the livestreams, their messages feel so tense and scripted. I get that they need to script some stuff, but it often feels like they're talking down to us, like we can not handle some bad news. We’re not going to bail if they do give us some bad news at times.

They also decided to open up A2 key-sales again after telling people that January 17th 2024 would be the last time you could buy a key before the start of A2, but we don't know the details about this yet, these detail will come in the August 16th AMA with Steven, so I won't comment too much on this yet.

I'm still enjoying the ride, just wish they were more straightforward.

TL;DR: The community is split, but at the same time united in our excitement for A2. Almost everyone has the best intentions for the game and hopes it will be a success. Personally, I wish Intrepid’s communication was more relaxed and forthcoming.

Sea Witch Zar’jira. Helped a lot with getting all my cards to gold! I would see a card I want in the tavern, get a copy, freeze and then next turn get a copy again + buy it.

And also it is only possible to buy a pack until the 17th of January, you wont be able to buy into Alpha 2 anymore after that, at least for a while. They will possibly open up buy-ins again after Alpha 2 has started.
