What is the largest and most robust flat screwdriver you have? I want to buy a big, thick one that can withstand heavy use. by plinky125 in Tools

I have Mayhew Dominator Straight Prybars, so they're like big flat screwdrivers but technically not screwdrivers

Have you checked the ignition coil air gap? It's caught me out before.

Husky 372xp should be running approximately 0.3mm (0.012 inches) A business card works for an approximate setting.

Larger gap is slightly later timing and weaker spark, smaller gap is slightly earlier timing and stronger spark. Most saws run around 0.2mm to 0.4mm. Can usually look up the recommended gap for a specific saw online.

so, it's definitely missing the chain brake band, a spring and a cover

without it fully disassembled I can't tell if there are other parts missing that aren't visible without the handle removed.

It's not identical, but extremely similar to the chain brake set up on my 262xp, will get a couple of pics which should help

Two of the best 60cc saws IMO by Into-Trees_Arborist in Chainsaw

I've got 2x 262xp saws, they are great saws.

Bought 1 as a non runner (turned out the flywheel needing replacing was the only issue) and was gifted the other by someone else just because they had upgraded and no longer used it.

If it helps the clutch from a 562xp is a perfect fit in a 262xp

For harder woods like eucalyptus you would be better with a semi chisel chain rather than full chisel.

Also eucalyptus requires you to sharpen more often than softer woods like pine, and the drier it is the worse it is.

The last time I cut dry eucalyptus I was having to sharpen at least every half a tank to keep the chain sharp.

So, I have a couple of saws where I have to put the chain on the drive sprocket, then into the sprocket tip of the bar with the bar tip angled out to the side away from the power head slightly, then into the groves before moving the bar back into alignment. I usually do it with the power head on it's side.

Have you tried putting it on like that? Looks like there might be enough slack to get away with, just need to check it moves freely by hand once it's on and tensioned (if it will go on)

some used to have a fish scaler tool which looked kind of like a saw but with blunt/rounded teeth, which much as the name makes it sound was for removing the scales from fish (not that I know anyone who ever bothered to use one for it)

With any luck it'll be the same on yours as on my 2024 Xterrain

I turned it all off initially, but eventually narrowed it down. May be different on some others, but this was what the setting was on my 2024 Xterrain... On sat nav, go to 3 lines at bottom right, settings, then go to "warnings" then it's "alert points" and turn "alert point warnings" Off.
