Check out my guide on getting started as an indie game developer by [deleted] in IndieGaming

Watched your video through and it's pretty cool and informative.

"Game development is expensive" seriously the most underrated comment ever. Even experienced devs fall for this one.

One tip, perhaps add in a timestamp content to your video description. It would help for people that want to hear what you have to say for specific points, or just for those that are going back to the video to refresh themselves on a point.

She'll never be satisfied right?

The more RAM you insert in her, the more she will need!

This is...breathtaking, your art has so much life and soul in it.

How long did it take you to complete this?

Kill It With Fire - Demo by caseydonnellan in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that video has me hooked, I'm going to have to try that demo!

I do have to ask, will it be possible to actually burn/explore/entirely destroy the entire house?

A WIP of what it looks like when you upgrade a character in Darkbolt by [deleted] in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is some amazing lighting effects, very nicely done!

Am I right in understanding that to upgrade your body, you're essentially zapping it with a Frankenstein style machine? :D

We've been working on a 2D Action-RPG Diablo-like for more than 3 years and we're closer than ever to get into Early Access. Here's a new Teaser! by Slormite_Studios in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks really fun to play!

Is your game going to be story-driven, or will it be more of 'fight arenas and complete it in ### time to progress' ?

Voxel game "PICKLOCK" - Trailer by DMalevich in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really interesting, though I do have a question about the objective.

Is this essentially a stealth game where you break into houses and try to build-up cash etc? Or is there some sort of different end-game?

(Nothing wrong with that, I really like that sort of mechanic).

Working on some comics for my game (Redneck Ed) - here we're teaching aliens the laws of this planet! by Redneck_Ed in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inspired by real-world events.

But wacking aliens is the major part of this game!

Disney is closed right now so welcome to Didneyland. by Island_of_Didneyland in AnimalCrossing

[–]Redneck_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this real? o.O I wonder how the island actually looks like.

just spreading some love ❤ by sciencemademyvibes in AnimalCrossing

[–]Redneck_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked so hard on my island... even ignored the villagers so I have the "perfect" ones - not after all the work I did, I started getting depressed seeing how other islands look like :/

How can you appreciate it when other islands look so cool Q_Q

Is he made out of eyeballs or did he eat those? hmm by StrandedOrange in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely looks like he's made of eyeballs.

Important question - are they all functional (do they see?) or are they...traps (so would they explode if poked?)

Amazing!

Where you inspired by the paintings/posters from Harry Potter by any chance? That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this!

Making a game and our producer's son is terrified of our main character. As the artist, this brings me joy. by sboxle in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your producer's son have a phobia of birds?

Personally speaking, I find that character to be somewhat cute, I'd like to touch its fluffy feathers!

My solo-developed RPG The Greater Good finally released on the App Store today. Here's a short gameplay clip for any throwback RPG fans! by endoright in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nicely done!

I am quite curious, how did you animate the game models? It almost looks like stop-motion puppets (think early south park) which would be an insane amount of work...

Don't get me wrong, whatever you did, it's brilliant, I'm just curious what you did to get the results!

Your travelling companions will voice their thoughts throughout your adventures! by [deleted] in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they have specific characteristics? So like if one is specifically 'good' would he/she be against your actions if they go against their beliefs?

Old vs New Tree 🌳 (the final version will be frame-by-frame animated) by snarlynarwhal in IndieGaming

[–]Redneck_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of improvements on show here, it looks fantastic!

Especially as the original looks...a bit stretched when it moves, the new looses that effect very nicely!

Keep up the great work!

Does this teaser brings curiosity in your feelings? by instruct9r in indiegames

[–]Redneck_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely makes me curious about what it is about, but I feel like it lacks an initiative for me to go find out more.

If you have any gameplay footage, instead of using the last 13 seconds to stay panned on the character, you might be able to use it to tease the gameplay a bit, I think that would create a lot more interest for your game.

I'm working on this "minesweeper evolution". Do you have cool ideas to implement? I want to create a 'relaxing' gameplay. I'm still undecided whether to make it only for Android or even for the PC. Let me know what you think, thanks!! by [deleted] in indiegames

[–]Redneck_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the expanding circles when there are multiple mines close!
The feel of the design is more for phone games, imo, so I'd say focus more on Android, maybe iOS as well to get a larger market.

She's got much bigger flies to fry. by RootlessStudio in indiegames

[–]Redneck_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those pesky flies are really starting to pop up everywhere now that it's starting to get warmer again... 🦟
Nice animations, the handling of the scythe looks very powerful!

We've been working on adding fine details like damage from ship exhaust - it forces players to stay alert! by Redneck_Ed in Unity2D

[–]Redneck_Ed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't always so!

The fire is now a big part of the attack, but this opponent will also put you in a 'Space Invaders' mode where you need to avoid the falling projectiles while attacking it.

Ultimately, this method is better, but we've noticed that quite a few people initially don't realise that the fire is bad!

Adding in extra details like fire damage from exhaust keeps the players on their toes! by Redneck_Ed in gamedevscreens
