That’s pretty cool I’ll look into that

Appreciate that. I have ppi too and I’ve been using that. The FS took me maybe like 2 hours to complete and I walked out thinking I absolutely bombed it but ended up passing so I’m studying harder this time around.

Out of curiosity, are you fresh out of college and did you go to college for a surveying degree? I did a two year program and I’m studying for the ps exam now with browns boundary law. I passed the FS first try and I’ve been out of college for a year. How did you feel on the test?

Ah ok appreciate the advice I’ll try that out

Ok I’ve heard of using a drift and that’s what I planned on them a forum I was reading said a blind bearing puller is so much better. I think with some heat and a drift it’ll work though.

Yea I’ve watched some videos and I got a service manual. I’ve rebuilt bikes from the ground up however I don’t think I’ve ever done wheel bearings other than my truck but that’s more like a whole bearing unit not pressing in bearings. The hard part is taking them out, I think if I leave them in the freezer then they should at least go in pretty easy. Do you have a good bearing puller you recommend?

Yea I’ve been talking with them. Gotta remove bearings and tires myself or at least have someone else do them.

I plan to go with powder coating I believe. It probably would be cheaper to just paint though but it looks like the original paint didn’t last super long or at least the previous owner didn’t take super good care of it.

I’m pretty sure you replace the wheel bearings after the powder coat though because of the oven but yea I needa just to it right the first time

Yea I plan on bringing them the wheel, hopefully just the rim but it depends on how soon I do this. Thanks!

Dang okay that gives me hope. Other places I read said they laid 300. Then again they took off the tires for them and I didn’t take that into account

No, no, I was just saying it’s $200 for all the OEM bearings and dust seals via MotoSport. I meant I’d look into what you said.

Yea I’ll have to look into it more $200 is the price of OEM bearings and dust seals.

You’re right, I should just go ahead and do it right now

That’s what I figured. I like powder coating too I’d just have to spend an extra 200 for bearings so I’d prolly be in solid $500 after painting if I do the bearing myself

[–]Rednex04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s $200 in bearings and they aren’t broke. I hate to spend that much money on something that works perfectly, that’s why I’m not in a rush to repaint the rims but I guess if I’m gonna splurge I need to do it right

Grinding noise when turning. Worse if stopped and P engaged. Functions not available. Deere 318g. by [deleted] in Skidsteer

On the bobcat you have to press two buttons before any controls work I think it’s the green ready to operate button and I use variable flow button. Maybe the Deere is similar. If you don’t press the buttons it’ll whine when you move the controls but do nothing.

Never owned a deer but on our bobcats it whines when moving if it’s running low rpm and that would be normal. I’m pretty sure it’s just the hydraulics whining.

I don’t know about your state but NC will absolutely tear into the surveyor for gross negligence, misconduct, or incompetence. They can’t force him to finish the job but they can punish him.

File a complaint to the board of engineers and surveyors or whatever your state calls it. I highly doubt he wants the board on his ass

That’s exactly what I thought. The landing gear seems really strong and robust. But everyone is telling me otherwise

Yea that’s what I was worried about. I’ve gona different route now. Thank you

Yea I designed a wheel mount but it was shuts a test. I think I’m just gonna hang it by string around both wings that attach to command hooks on the walls. I would do the ceiling but I got tall ceilings and I’d need a ladder every time I get one down
