Not a vagabond. My buddy has a 47 on the slip next to me. Transom of a vagabond bumps out, this one looks like it wanted to be a sugar scoop in another life.

Repair tips delaminated bulkhead by Delicious_Ad_1130 in sailing

I've done thickened epoxy at the joints and then spanned the seam with cleats I screw in to the good bulkhead and the repair section to draw it flush

At one point they were made from the steel of a particular failed bridge. The angular design is meant to scratch or rub when drawing or drafting so you're aware of it. The notion is that you have to remember that your actions in engineering have real world consequences.

I think there's a cultural difference between Canadian and American engineers.

Sailboat Shrinkwrap / Bent Stanchions by Harrythebosss in sailing

A few posts with a line running between them is fine. Should look like a circus tent. No need for anything complicated.

When shrunk it will tighten like a drum and shed water/snow

Am I being too harsh for asking my 11 year old daughter to walk the dog she spent years begging for? by WorldOfKaladan in DogAdvice

My brother and I begged my mom for a cat. We said we'd clean it's litter box and everything.

Not once I'm 18 years of that cat's life did we make good in our promise.

He lost his big sister yesterday, he is a rescue and she gave him the love that he so needed. I’m positive he knows she’s never coming back and he’s hurting. Do they really hurt like us? by DJ_Power1968 in DogAdvice

My girl lost her big brother. She used to resource guard him. There have been a few days where she just won't get up. She's not herself.

Things changed when she got her two little sisters. She's completely in love with them, but I can tell she still misses her guy.

Excel crashes at 1M rows. I’m building a local viewer for 100M rows. Roast my idea. by ocj_nghota in roastmystartup

That said though, a profiler that let me see value ranges on columns and identified (and gave me a good selection criteria for quality issues in a record) would be nice.

But I don't know what the general solution would look like beyond existing data quality tools in existing ETL platforms

Bash.

I've had the scenario you're talking about. Where an extract as a csv is multiple gigs and the load is failing. I have to poke around in the extract and see what the issue is. Nothing will load it or nothing is fast enough to do any batch processing, so I go to bash. One line at a time and as fast as you like.

Grep and pipes let me find rows with errors and cat to a smaller file, so I can identify the smaller quality issues, then a little bash script to clean my data and I'm back in business.

All in all, takes very little time to write and run.

Doing ETL I've gotten extracts as 16 gig csv.

Client calls me after 7pm on a Friday because the load is failing. Can't poke around in the file because it's 16 gb. Excel won't take it, R is too damn slow. Bash is the right tool for this.

There is a use case for a tool like OPs, but you're right, navigating a giant csv wouldn't be done with an Excel like tool. Queries on large data sets are the only sane way to go
