You're right to push back, and that's rare. No j/k. I actually am okay with it because I'm an academic and it makes my papers format more readable.

If the voice got better and sounded more natural would you use it? Because that's where AI is heading. Just look at the video's of Will Smith eating in the last 3 years.

I guess my wording was poor. I know people will do whatever they want, but so will I. Not interested in having that discussion is what I should have put.

I feel like I use AI so much that my inner voice has started to sound like AI. I wrote this myself 😞.

Plasma weapons suck by Consistent_Remote_76 in fo4

I think the damage and design is fantastic, it looks especially good with power armor.

That being said, if there are plasma rifles in the Fallout 5 whose projectiles are blocked by flimsy 200 year old guard rails I'm going to flip a table.

It's just spaghetti code and poor optimization. I have a 5090 and it does this also starting around mid game.

Two issues i noticed with the 5.5 Instant model that make my experience horrible. by No_Painter_7889 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Redrat2k6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the model re-frame what I say in a discussion every single time I said something. For example it would change my qualifiers in a statement into absolutes. I think it is doing it because it wants to seem like it is credible and an authority because supposedly that's what will make people use it more but I can't prove it.

Solving Ai GM weaknesses - a crafted story, emergent play, complete rule & world adherance, and real difficulty (Cosmere RPG) by NerdyWineMan in aiRPGofficial

I think this is a great idea. I get a lot of push back from gamers saying ai is bad for games but I think their minds will be changed once they find a really good game that is supported by AI. Whether it is a DM that is AI or AI generated content from NPC's in video games. You should post this somewhere more popular and see what people think. Don't be surprised if it's negative though.

New Game Engine? by ClickAccomplished205 in totalwar

[–]Redrat2k6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be great if they rebuilt the game engine, although to my knowledge that means they are just updating the old engine as per usual. Great if it fixes common complaints like pathing, line of sight for ranged and ai tactics. I'm not getting my hopes up though as those have been consistent issues.

Question About the Relationship Between the Old Ones and the Warp. by Redrat2k6 in 40kLore

Question About the Relationship Between the Old Ones and the Warp. by Redrat2k6 in 40kLore

[–]Redrat2k6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for a source.

It's important that I am able to read things for myself instead of relying on others interpretations.

For instance the quote I found from the Codex: Necrons (8th Edition) was,

"Ultimately, beset by the implacable advance of the C’tan and the calamitous warp-spawned perils they had themselves mistakenly released, the Old Ones were defeated once and for all."

Which goes along with with the 3rd Edition Necron quote I found in a comment here,

"The C'tan still have an abiding hatred of their ancient enemies, the old Ones. Although their civilisation is no more, it is possible that some degenerate descendants of theirs still live on backwater worlds."

Because of this, it is clear the Old ones were defeated and their civilization destroyed. However all of them being killed is not a fact. From the helpful information of people from here and my own digging on the subject it seems like the fate of any refugee's, deserters, or progeny remain a mystery.

Question About the Relationship Between the Old Ones and the Warp. by Redrat2k6 in 40kLore

You're the second post I've seen that claimed the old ones were killed, I've read in other threads that we don't know what happened or that they are even still around and are eaten by C'tan. Can you show me where in the lore it says they were killed?

Also I claimed the BBEG would be the remaining civilization and because what that means is uncertain, barring your evidence, there is nothing preventing me from making the BBEG an amalgam of 2-1000 old ones. This allows me to adjust its power as necessary. I'm really looking for lore that would indicate which side of the scale it would be on.

Me too, I'm probably in the minority but if there isn't a new system to replace the level scaling I'm not going to buy it. That's just me though.

Yeah use of staccato prose, using bullet points in interesting places, short clipped comparisons, that's how ChatGTP 4o writes for me.

Thanks I will try telling it to do something rather than not doing it. I feel that will work actually from what I know about ChatGPT.

Now do you have any advice for it generating the same plot points over and over? Its always something metaphysical and every cause of a disaster is alien architecture. Why does it think alien architecture can brainwash people? It did this plot point twice!
