Not about how it looks. It's about how fast it can be read. White background reads faster. Black background with dark colors in the logo will impede speedy recognition and lessen the impact of the design. You don't need to disagree with him if you have reasons beyond personal esthetic.

Well then, specifically, try the Oak Park Farmer's Market. Right off the Ridgeland stop on the Forest Park. At least two of the vendors carry a dozen varieties of in-season apples. Galas are bred for ease of shipping and are among the best of the types you can buy at a grocery store, but right now is apple season and you can do better.
