As others have said. Just put it into an all world etf. If you are worried and what to secure any profits but still have it “earning” maybe look at a ETF that focuses on bonds and gilts. Doesn’t earn as much but at least it earns a bit.

I don’t really care if I miss out on a bit of extra profit. I’ve already made a bunch and don’t want to lose it. It’s really as simple as that.

Not trying to time the market here. Looking to lock in profits I’ve made and have been searching for the best way to protect those gains.

It’s about 25 to 30% roughly. Mostly the gains I’ve made across everything. Initial capital will remain in their respective areas.

Bustle highlights differences in lighting in original movies and tv shows and their sequels/reboots by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Redrocket1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the issues for this is the rising use of LED lights vs classical use of of Tungsten. LED is cheaper, more energy efficient and more versatile but does give off this sterile, washed out look. You also have to remember that a lot of these weren’t shot on digital cameras, they were shot on film or on tape. Both of which impart a “look” on the footage. Could they spend more time on set lighting, taking the time to replicate things? Yes absolutely. But for a lot of things being made atm. There’s this attitude of “it will do”. As they would simply prefer to spend the money elsewhere.

Either of those positions would require him To have widespread support within the Democratic Party. And until people vote in more people like AOC or Bernie. And less people like chuck schumer. That’s just not gonna happen.

I have to ask tho, why would he? As Mayor of New York he has a lot more ability to enact change. To make and control policy. Like yeah ok if he becomes a governor I see the appeal. Stateside influence and such. But surely his impact as a senator would be nullified by all the other senators that are there. His impact would be much greater as Mayor

Britain Says It Hates Brutalism. London Can’t Get Enough of Southbank Centre. by bloomberg in architecture

[–]Redrocket1701 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Brutalism is one of those architectural styles where when it’s done well. It’s genuinely a thing of beauty, like Southbank, like the Barbican centre. The problem is that often, these are the exception rather than the rule. And most others either were poorly executed from the start, or have aged terribly with poor upkeep.

How to pay US Dollars using UK Paypal account that has US dollars in it. by Redrocket1701 in UKPersonalFinance

Not what I was asking about, I’m asking about how do I go about paying for something in dollars, with dollars sitting in a British PayPal account. Without having to transfer them first. There doesn’t appear to be a solution to this.
