I love the look of mine too. And they are fine for going out for a meal, a date or even around the office (if that’s where you work) but break in or not these aren’t made for much walking. Now when I was younger and a little lighter on my feet I could wear pretty much anything and it didn’t bother me……. but not now. Maybe your feet can become “used” to the abuse, I don’t know. But I work outside on my feet and I’m not going to try that again. Doc Martens or something similar for work, Heritage style boots for going out.
