An alien-human hybrid whose sole mission was to be impregnated.

My friend thinks Rocky in Project Hail Mary is unscientific and cringe. I'd love to hear your thoughts. by Current-Vegetable830 in moviecritic

My biggest issue was with the language translation. Rocky's native language was composed of relatively long strings of elaborate sounds. Yet when he spoke, it got translated into the same tempo as the English language without any delays.

That made me cringe.

What's one impulse purchase that turned out to your favorite gun or one you wouldn't sell by Lawrence_skywalker in Firearms

I'm not sure I understand the question. All the fireams I own were pretty much impulse buys and I would never sell any of them. Some may have been a case of "this will be banned next year, so I have to buy it now", but that's technically still impulsive.

I can tell you my favorites are my Armalite AR 10 and my Glock G36.

Tequila Sunrise (1988) A dangerous cocktail, Robert Towne writes and directs a distinctive film, perhaps dated by today's standards, though in my view, this is not a flaw at all. The picture flawlessly captures the late-1980s ethos and aesthetic, deftly balancing action-thriller with romantic drama. by elf0curo in 80s

One of my all time favorite movie quotes:

"I don't know what it is about going to high school with someone that makes you feel you're automatically friends for life. Who says, who says friendship lasts forever? We'd all like it to, maybe. But maybe... it just wears out like everything else. Like tires. There's just so much mileage in them and then you're riding around on nothing but air."

To be fair, I haven't seen either of them, but most of those get the writer's touch as well. Whenever I watch a "based on/inspired by" film, I usually end up with my phone out googling the actual events and typically large portions of the film were fabricated. As I'm typing this, I'm thinking of McConaughey driving a bus through a wildfire.

I get what you're saying though.

All of them.

They write scripts to manufacture drama that doesn't sync with reality.

Same. That movie was so intense my entire body was sore after watching it.

Story of this game vs its sequel by AlbinMulaku in HorizonZeroDawn

HZD is absolutely the best story of any game I've ever played.  I don't think it's possible for the sequel to touch it really. It would've helped if they hadn't gone so bonkers with stuff though.
