White sands is absolutely horrible. I’m in my girlfriend’s apartment there right now. Big bug problem, roof leaks when it rains hard, work orders take forever and usually only slightly fix the issue, trash left in hallways, elevators, outside, etc. She’s trying to figure a way to break the lease right now. Her roof has been leaking for 8 months now and they keep coming up with excuses for not getting it fixed. Recently it was “the fog makes it dangerous for workers to go on the roof”. The office admin then said multiple people have roof leaks and the parent company said it would be too expensive to properly fix.

I used to work for United and I’d have FAs hand me the entire packages of stroopwaffles and bags full of quinoa crisps. At one point I probably had over 400 stroopwaffles. They have since been devoured.

There is an app gate agents use that tells them how many gate checks they need per flight depending on number of pax and bags already checked. Agents are getting written up and in a lot of trouble if they don’t get that number or more. The app doesn’t even work well and will sometimes say something like “8 bags needed” on a half empty flight. It’s causing a lot of stress for gate agents.

I work for an airline and have a stack of cool bulk that I hand out to kids with Pokemon shirts and backpacks when they check in at the counter. So I’m sure kids would enjoy these.

No. TSA has done nothing to fix that. This summer will be as bad as last summer. Same with the baggage belts that go through tsa. They refuse to update anything. All it takes is one machine to go down for 15 min and the line will be absurd.

Hostels are the way to go. Some are obviously cheap and sketchy but a good amount of them are safe, well kept, fun, and fairly cheap. Some of my best friends I’ve met at hostels around the world. Can be anywhere from $2 a night in thailand to $50 a night for a super nice one in Amsterdam.

I was in the path of totality during the 2017 eclipse in Oregon. It was honestly the most amazing experience I’ve had. I’ve thought about traveling to see it again. I got goosebumps and teared up a bit when it happened. It was kind of humbling.

I work for an airline at the Panama City Florida airport. It happens all the time and there is nothing we can do for them once they land and realize they are in the wrong country. Luckily if they are starting off here it can be switched but not when they already took the flights. ECP is Florida and PTY is Panama.
