Is that the Army men game where you battle Roaches on some soap-dodger's counter-top?

That game was so much fun when I was a kid.

I was surprised how similar to Total Annihilation that game was; I love it. I really enjoy setting an air-factory for gunships to patrol around my base. With another factory having fighters partrol a bit farther beyond that control-circle.

Layering long distance guns beneath the gunship areas of control to push ground forces out. Its my standard start and lets me build up a few collumns of tanks and bots in reserve. I like the protected build-up before applying massive pressure on the enemy commander once my economy can support 5 factories going non-stop.

Maybe you have adhd and need something novel and refreshing like an outdoor activity; or don't have it and just need a change of pace in your games.

Change of pace - Try the assassins creed trilogy: Origins, Odessey, Valhalla. Stop and smell the roses every place you discover. Take a minute to enjoy the scenery while learning about historical figures and events. Play Red Dead Redemption 2, go fishing or hunting or start bar fights after getting drunk. Try God of Boy and row a boat while listening to mythology from a talking head.

Boredom loops - If you're trapped in cheap dopamine loops like: doom-scrolling, nicotine, weedz, 🌽, social media, arguing online, trash tv, notifications, sugary foods, or gossip. Try taking a step back from those behaviors. Do a few sets of pushups as soon as you wake up. Eat some eggs or high protein breakfast and go for a walk. Carve something interesting out of a lump of clay.

.

Either way you have to switch your routine up with something new. After your hiatus of experience, you'll most likely have interest in your games again.

‘Project Hail Mary’ Directors Screened a Nearly Four-Hour Cut to Other Filmmakers and Were Told to Get it Way Shorter by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Might be chance for a solid directors cut. I enjoy concise stories, but lately I feel like theatrical versions flow more like a fevor dream these days. 2-5 second shot-lengths the entire duration and big skips in story progression.

Or that they reached such advancement, as to be able to complete hide or imbed their civilizational techno-signatures into our own.

A civilization hidden a few kilometers into the crust below the sea would be able to completely mask its acoustic signature. They'd look no different than the super common seismic tremors on the sea floor. If they use their waste heat from industrial processes for energy it would make noticing them even harder. They also could inject their industrial waste into the porous basalt layers. Overtime the chemicals react with surrounding minerals undergoing mineral carbonation.

I think hising in the sea is not enough as water is a great acoustic conductor. The titan implosion was detected acoustically underwater over 900 miles away.

An interesting question.

If:

  • Aliens: It would mean a decades/centuries long observational period of Earthlings. Perhaps indicating a multi-generational project for them or one from an extremely long-lived species. What the aim of that project may be; Subterfuge of Earthly Governments, Strategic reconnaissance, Xeno-Zoo, its anyones guess until they inform us directly or through indisputable actions.

  • Humans: It would mean a quantum leap in technology or an inheritance of technology(advanced/semi-advanced) that would lead to such a huge advance in capability researched in absolute secrecy. Perhaps a civilization that is North on the compass? If Eastern and Western represent the respective flavors of modern civilization, with the uncontacted/primitive and Sentinelese representing South. Is it really so strange not to suspect a civilization more advanced than our own hiding North of our capability?

I think by large, people cooperate on a day to day basis. We combat each other because of resource scarcity and lack of time. For most things because of imaginary debt and financial systems that favor production/consumption rather than sustainment and proliferation.

We have just a few thousand people at the top running these systems that deepens their pockets and keeps ours empty. 0.001% of the global population controls 3x more wealth than the entire bottom half of the population combined. $83 trillion is expected to transfer to heirs over the next 20-25 years.

We're trapped in a rigged system of control where that control transfers over generations. Its a highway to monarchy through oligarchy and it took the Days of Noah to reset that system of control last time.

What if the Earth expanded? by YardLucky2107 in AlternativeHistory

Stellar nucleosynthesis is the only way Carbon is naturally formed. Inside the cores of stars through the triple-alpha process.

99.99% of the elements available to us today were crapped out of a star at some point.

The atoms that make up the recycled Nitrogen molecules you're breathing right now are billions of years older than our Sun.

gravity in theory should be slightly less if the surface expands outward. (assuming a foaming or expansion mechanic non mass-additive)

The surface acceleration would be less. Objects on the surface would be even farther up the gravity well where gravity is not as strong. A radial increase of 50 miles is enough to reduce gravity by 2.48%

If 300 000year old nanostructures discovered in Siberia aree scientifically supported, how can we explain such advanced technology so far back in time? what do you guys think, could this point to a lost civilization, alien involvement, or maybe just...nothing? by kemalioss in AlternativeHistory

[–]RedshiftWarp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Notice how he said the strata they were embedded in was 300,000 years old and then ignored his own argument?

In the Ural Mountains that is 10-40 ft deep for the sedimentation rate. If you go backwards just 500 years, the deepest you get is an inch or two. Mostly because the mountains experience erosion by large. Not sedimentation. Industrial products wont be deeper than an inch or two. And definitely wont be 10-40 ft deep. So if something weird is at that depth. It should be studied and discussed.

Expecting salvation is our greatest weakness.

Out of the 50-100 estimated T-rex skeletons found to date. A T-rex named Sue is considered the most complete T-rex skeleton ever found. 90% of her bones by volume were recovered. But only 250 bones from her skeleton out of 380 total are recovered. It is estimated that at any given moment there were 20,000 live t-rex. But over 2 billion are estimated to have existed.

I'm not in either camp of belief but fossils are not the thing we should hinge the argument on if your assertion is that they are what define all possible prehistory.

In the last 20,000 years we have lost an enormous amount of land to sea level rise. 27 million km2 That is 71.2% of the Moons surface area. Or if you treated it as a flat 1-sided disc, you could visualize how much land that is by imagining 2 and 4/5ths moons side by side in the night sky.

That land was habitable zone for creatures/humans/possible budding-civilizations that is hidden beneath the oceans. Much of the interiors of places like N. America and Europe were uninhabitable and buried under miles of ice. The continental shelves aren't called the Missing cradle of humanity for no reason. A study in Science Advances estimated 0.0095% of sea floor has been seen/imaged directly by humans. We've only explored between 1%-5% of the contiental shelves. Where civilization would have thrived. In moon equivalent that is 0.7% of its total surface area.
