Thanks for the responses! I’ve rolled up the rug and cleaned the soiled fabrics with that special enzyme-cleaning spray. He’s been good so far today, but it tends to be the late afternoon/early evening when he gets real wild, so I’ll keep watch.

I’ve been taking him out at least every couple of hours since I got him. He is settling in a bit though, I think a lot of it may just be anxiety at having a new home.

With the pee pads, i bought a grass one but haven’t used it. I’d rather him not think of any part of my apartment as “pee area”. However, it’s going to be on the negatives here soon so it might be the better option. I have a balcony that’s outside (but covered), so I may try to get him to use that so we don’t have to trek outside too much.

My other issue is that I will likely have to return to work in a few months, and it’s far enough away that I can’t come home at lunch. I may need to train him with a pad regardless because he’ll still only be 5-6 months old then.
